GW2 is about it with it's every 2 weeks in that regard. However what I've never heard of is an mmo in the last 5 years or so that wants to be any kind of success that waits 3+ months for the majority of it's qol fixes that most people clamor for at launch.
Since people love to use WoW as an example I do too
Yes somtimes it had content updates 2 month apart. But those were occasions and not the norm. More often than not stuff is/was around 5month after the last.
Although Blizzard releases their expansion with a lot of things to do, that will at least keep us occupied for more than 3 weeks. And even Molten Core, their very first raid back in 2004, had way more bosses than Coils. So there's no way a re-released game would have only 4 bosses for 6 months.
I'm going to go with late February/early March...
So yeah, that means 6 months of only 1 raid of 4 bosses. Pretty awesome game, but lacking end-game content.
Edit: The game has such a great potential, but I'm afraid it won't be exploited, just like some other MMOs we've seen in the past. Game companies don't learn from their mistake. I really do hope I'm wrong, but as of now, it really seems like this game will be a huge letdown in the long-term. I really wish they prove me wrong though !

It wasn't a mistranslation, Japanese says the exact same thing. I think December sounds more probable, and I don't mind waiting. I'm having fun doing other stuff on the game. Leveling other jobs, crafting, gathering etc. I like how there isn't a rush to quickly clear the content, means I can go at my own pace.

I seen this yesterday and was like ?@!* If 2.1 doesn't come out by the end of Nov then I'm out. There is already little incentive to get on more than a few times a week now, Can pretty much cap myth in a few hours. But I heard some stuff about Nov 14th and 2.1 but those are just rumors. I would like to spend the time leveling another job to 50 but since we can only gear one job to the max (Relic/CoB gear) don't see the point.
Looks like this game will go down faster than 1.0 did, Don't think they will have Super Legacy status to save FFXIV this time around.
Edit "If" they push 2.1 back to end of the year then they better be doing an overhaul on Crystal Tower Gear/Difficulty. There would be no point in adding it late Dec early Jan because by that time most people should/will have most if not full Relic/CoB gear for their main job.

I think this is where the game is going to start feeling the effect of a complete redesign. In almost every other MMO, when it's shipped generally the first major patch is almost done, the second being worked on, and assets for many future projects also being started. With ARR prehaps all the assets went into launching the redesign with no time to meaningfully start designing future content. So we may be looking at a situation where all the major patches take much longer than most other MMOs just simply due to not having the time to get as much progress in advance. All conjecture of course... but it seems likely.
