Choco party and Duty Finder design is worse than a bag of drowning kittens.

So I've turned 50. I loved leveling my class/job, questing, exploring, but most of all I loved having my Choco out, being my bud. I use him so much that I burn through those greens indiscriminately.

However, what has always made me sore about my experience was how the Duty Finder hates my Choco. Queues ALWAYS take a long time, and I really don't want to do anything other than run around with my Choco, but I can't. Is there a good design reason for this? No! Choco is a party member that is never EVER EVER used in an actual party for any practical reasons. But I can't even use him when I'm by myself because at 50 there is almost no time when I shouldn't be in queue for something, even if leveling other jobs.

Yeah I could do other things like craft or gather I suppose. But screw that, I want my Choco out with me then too, I'm proud of him and want my friend by my side. However my choices are taken away from me, and I really don't perceive any good reason except for bad design.

I really, really hope that endgame becomes more Choco friendly. Whether that be by redesign of how the DF Queue behaves, or how Chocos are handled in parties (maybe redesign them to not even be party members).

Agreed. I can think of no reason why duty finder can't be smart enough to know how to deal with someone with a chocobo summoned while queued up for something.

For that matter, I don't know why they won't let you talk to people or use merchants while mounted. That's pretty silly.

You know what would be fun. Being able to queue with your choco. We rsise them to have roles, they make a light party. I think that would be fun.

The development team would definitely like to make it possible to queue for the Duty Finder as well as make it possible to receive party invitations when your companion is out, and they are currently working towards implementing this.

However, the time and amount of work needed to implement this is high and there are other implementation plans in the works ahead of this, so we cannot promise that this will be implemented right away.

While i share your sentiment that not being able to use chocobos while waiting in DF is unpleasant. a bag of drowning kittens is far worse than anything in this game.

I don't see what's wrong with a bag of drowning kittens, but the Duty Finder is pretty horrible.

i agree that the current system is a bit frustating....

im always in queue for DF and that make me unable to use my chocobo in combat and exp him.we should also be able to use a different mount while chocobo is out.i know it would be stupid to mount your chocobo when he is out but why cant we use another mount.....because he cant follow us?really lol,he is a mount too that mean he can run as fast.

there a lot of improvement that need to be made about chocobo system and i hope they will fix them.
