Please go back and re-read my post! I don't care about the exp at all, the area has died and no one is around. I enjoy meeting new people even if it is on the internet.
FATEs are a great place to meet new people.

You know how many friends I made from fates? It great for the community and to meet people on your own server. Duty finder is useless unless you are going with a PUG to meet people.

This still happens though. It's not as if all fates are gone and no one's making fate parties anymore. One area may have died down a bit, but that isn't going to stop most players from fate grinding as it's still the best way to get exp vs. dungeons. I did Dark Devices ONCE. I did a lot of other fates to get to 50.
