Doing enough damage (1/3) will net you 100% of the rewards, as it has been since early beta.
Um.. are you aware that the developers of this game fixed the FATE because it was being exploited to achieve faster than normal XP gains? Clearly the developers disagree with you on what is and is not an exploit. And as a side point, doesn't your defensive attitude and harsh generalizations sort of make you a "self appointed judge" of what is an exploit? Some people are so selfish they think their entitlement to 250 seals trumps that of the 199 other people trying to level just a little bit faster. Or they think they're the self appointed judge of what's an exploit and what isn't, so therefore no one should have experience. Stupid, really.
Pot, meet kettle.
I won't try to argue your point about lamb-killing trolls existing, but most of it - at least, on my server - only went one way, although it was never as serious as some other servers apparently are. All we got here was the lamb-killer's name in /shout, and a few people yelling at him (without a lot of profanity, for that matter) and then the progress bar stopped filling.
It was an easy source of experience, but honestly, I feel that we're better off without it. Even without the tens of thousands of experience points from the infinite spawns, the entire chain is worth quite a lot, as people have already mentioned. I know how caustic people can get when the world doesn't serve them everything they want on silver platters, and one less source of toxicity makes a (slightly) better community.
This one simply blacklists the derps that decide to troll the other 99% trying to level using the fate who kill lambs. On Sargatanas the practice is catching on pretty well, kill lambs and 80% of the progression community blacklists you. Good luck getting a Titan kill...Go duty finder -> find dungeon -> find people. I don't see the problem. I get on at 2:30 am and this is what I do. Though sometimes they speak another language. Which is fine for them and for me. We figure out other ways of communicating.
None of which, by the way, is DONT KILL LAMBS OR WE MURDER YOUR MOTHER AND NON-CONSENSUALLY HAVE RELATIONS WITH YOUR CAT.
I think that's a good thing.
If your leveling up this is great, pre-fix I got about 60k during the "farm" portion. Now it's just done faster so I can do other fates sooner. Always lots there still, and why not?
Plus my hands don't hurt anymore, thanks to not hitting buttons like a nut for 15 mins straight.
Not exactly. There were mixed messages on this.Um.. are you aware that the developers of this game fixed the FATE because it was being exploited to achieve faster than normal XP gains? So at first they said it wasn't an exploit, but they nerfed it anyways. Good game devs.
Honestly, it's not that the fate wasn't working as intended, it's that the community made completing the fate a point of derision. People wanting to move on to the next step wound up becoming community pariahs for just wanting to get it over with. While some servers stayed civil about it, others made it into some game-ending, life-altering attack on their egos. I know I was on the receiving end of said rage, and I popped the fate not knowing it was THAT fate. Tried to take part but... as many have said, if you're not in a group you're SOL. But, being level 50, the exp means nothing to me so I killed the lambs. And if I had that to do all over again, I'd still kill the lambs. We all pay to play this game, it's not our place to decide how eachother plays. You want to make people play your way, then pay their subscription fee. I'm sure they wouldn't mind playing by your rules if it means playing for free.
More evidence of the toxic behaviour this fate chain was breeding, it was bound to be changed sooner or later.
