I don't know where you been the past 4ish months, but the listed priority is the Battle System. The UI is fine beyond the latency problems due to it's serverside nature.

UI IS NOT FINE!
Please go look at any other MMO out there and tell me that "it's fine"
The UI is not designed for PC and it needs to be, SE need to make 2 versions of the UI one for PC and one for PS3 (which is what we currently have)
PC UI needs:-
- UI needs to be client side and not server side
- drag and drop
- right click to equip items
- better icons in the inventory (not a list)
- more action bars
- action bars that don't pop up and diappear during battle
- needs an in game graphics configuration panal
- a UI configuration panal with tick boxes and options for all the text based commands they have added. (such as displaying of head gear, enemy hp, enemy icon's etc)
- a better way to change class/equip/actions etc (Macro's are far too slow)
- there is tons of other stuff that I can't think of right now ..
PC Controls:-
- we need Mouse look with left click
- auto run with left and right click
- dedicated hotkeys for menu's like equip page, inventory etc (hell even FF11 had these)

It was in production in 2007.
I play a lot of MMOs currently, and this is one of the few that allows gamepad use and I actually like gamepad controls. It's call personal preference, and to me, you can do everything you need to with the current UI, but it still has latency problems.
Also, I like not having my view distrupted by a big ass actionbar in the bottom-center of my screen all the time.

Obviously you haven played XI on a controller. It sucks to control but it sucks a lot less than XIV. At least in XI you can do everything you need to on a controller. It was in production in 2007.

No wonder they pushed back the ps3 release. Something like this would NEVER pass Sony's quality assurance, not even the alpha phase.

Both Tera and Blade and Soul are designed to be played with control pads, the difference is they are optimised to be played with both/either.It was in production in 2007.

FFXIV favours control pad and that is partly why we have the clunky mess of a UI we have now.
SE should have made this game with PC UI first and then ported it to the PS3 afterwards.
I also use a gamepad from time to time in this game but thats only because using a mouse and keyboard sometimes is so counter-intuitive.
