Just want to let you know that the parser does not track shadow flare at all or dots extended by contagion (it acts as if there are no dots on the target for the extra time contagion grants)
Wanted to used Sic on both pets to keep the data the same, and yeah Titan took longer with Ifrit since we had 3 healers that run. Would be nice if the Parser actually showed how long a fight took. Doing another attempt now with Garuda just on Obey to see if the DPS difference is that big. With update with results.
I think they fixed the Shadow Flare part with the latest update unless it doesn't work on bosses because it tracks on targeting dummies.
you could have saved time and money by just getting your friends to debuff the target dummy, and make both pets dps at exactly one minute. (since you mentioned that you were paying for the run?)Wanted to used Sic on both pets to keep the data the same, and yeah Titan took longer with Ifrit since we had 3 healers that run. about shadowflare, I've tested it freshly yesterday, ffxivapp and logrep doesn't track shadowflare.
I'm the one making money doing Titan runs so just knocking out 2 things at once. Hmmm I tested it 3 days ago and it was taking Shadowflare on a target dummy so who knows. I guess my actually DPS is 100% accurate then.you could have saved time and money by just getting your friends to debuff the target dummy, and make both pets dps at exactly one minute. So Keeve was correct Garuda did more DPS being on Obey over Sic her DPS number was at 55 DPS for the latest attempts. BUT the fight seemed quicker than the last 2 attempts.
New picture of the Garuda so it looks like Garuda is the clear winner if you don't have a MNK in your group. So I still have to test Ifrit with a MNK and of course there is Contagion that makes Garuda a bit better as well. My DPS was a lot higher this run but that was because of a few reasons not just Contagion. People that got rocked were actually close to the boss so Bane was a lot more useful.
Another Ifrit meter with Sic and only using Enkindle once

The data isn't the same because Ifrit does more DPS on sic, rather than obey, and Garuda does more on Obey rather than sic. That wasn't supposed to be a test of sic vs obey. It was a test for DPS, and kind of damage. The fact that Garuda did more on an inferior settings speaks volumes.Wanted to used Sic on both pets to keep the data the same, and yeah Titan took longer with Ifrit since we had 3 healers that run. Not to mention you probably didn't do any target switching, as you stated earlier.
This is why dummy DPS is important. If one does more DPS on dummies, and is ranged, it will always functionally do even more DPS.
There is no situation where a melee pet, while is already being out DPS'd on a dummy, will out DPS a ranged pet.
None, at all*.
*Barring specific fight mechanics where melee get some sort of damage boost, AND you kite the boss.
