Ranged DPS affected by range?

FFXI has (used to? they've changed it a lot since I quit) a sweet spot, so he could also be getting it from that. 1.0 Had a lot more positional mechanics that they took away as well. Regardless, that's not the case.

I think the sweet spot was only for ranger/archer can't remember the job name in ffxi.
