DPS calculation for dungeons

Before CoB, we know all of the dungeons/primal battles can be done with AK gear with Ifrit/Garuda/Mog weapons

with the gear above, this wont be "Fastest" run, but with a great team and strategy, you can beat any battle

not long ago, a ls mate starts to use DPS calculator (a third party tool should not be allow to use)

Ever since that, he starts to point out everyone's DPS during certain events, and clearly after a while, the person who has the lowest DPS, becomes "unpopular", no one ever invite the people with low DPS to AK run or other events any more.

So please, I know DPS is very important for end game, but I really hope everyone can understand that you were once a newbie, you were once with low DPS before, and you were carry by others before.

If you were helped by others before, why not help the new players? and make the community better and more joyful environment.

DPS calculator is a killer for the game, it makes your team mate not team mate anymore.

Your point being?..
A dead weight in a group is still a dead weight, be it AK runs where he slows everyone down while performing a boring and repetitive task, or endgame, where he's a liability and a wipe threat.
If he can't be arsed to improve his playing skills, it's only natural people can't be arsed to carry the lazy sob through dungeons. Serves him right.

I met a lot of players with GC weapon and they know what they are doing in AK, or Primal battle. (some of them even have pink gear on them)
lower DPS doesnt mean they are dead weight, the one who has better gear can also be a dead weight.

On the other hand, I will not play AK with anyone that does not at least make the effort to upgrade their gear to lvl 50 starters. How hard is it to buy a level 50 weapon from GC or market and some cheap level 47+ accessories and get your job quest gear. I have seen people play AK with lvl 44 purples and without job gear.

Come on guys, there is a minimum effort that is required, and to turn up without the min. is just trolling the 3 other people. They are like the other extreme of elitists. The Carry Me Please Trolls.

and for primal battles, GC/AK gear is important for not being a dead weight.

But sometimes I do get upset to see how others treating player who has GC gear.

The reason why I started this thread is because,
2 weeks ago, a friend and I was doing monk/whm relic quest, Titan fight, both with AK gear and Ifrit weapon,
my Ls mate said that we are leechers, because our dps/equips is WAY TOO LOW/CRAP.
(well he was the one who keeps dying before the heart, as a healer)

I help my Ls mates with my Paladin a lot, which is currently geared with relic+1 and full darklight set.
but when I did my Paladin relic, i only had AK gear with Ifrit sword, it was an exciting battle, and the moment we won it, we were so happy and cherish the team work.
you cant really see that now (only 2 months after server launched) anymore.

this is happening a lot on Legacy server, which is really sad for the old player.

I was once in AK as a blm, a PLD came in saw 2 blms then he left without saying a word,

we finish that AK run in 33 mins, 33 mins per run isnt too bad i have to say... sometimes u see people with DL gear and they keep dying end up it takes 1 hr to beat it :/

We wasn't really wrong, you know.
You see, in FFXIV:ARR endgame content as it stands now is either a gear check or a skill check.
The latter can compensate the lack of former, but only to a degree - no matter how skilled you are, if you're unable to survive phase transition on Garuda even with multiple rocks remaining, or don't deal enough damage to destroy Titan's heart, you don't belong there in the first place.
I only hope that minimum item level requirement for dungeons and trials gets introduced soon enough, so that at least undergeared players will be kept out of content they shouldn't be doing yet.

You have experienced the WoW crowd unfortunately.

Not everyone in the game is like it, find a FC or make a LS that shuns these people out. It will make life seem alot better and won't feel like you are sharing the same oxygen with those mouth breathers.
