The easter event was just a community event. Those types of events its better off being on the lodestone then in game.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Every MMO announces things on their web site first. This stuff will be in game eventually, this isn't a technique unique to Square Enix, and it's definitely not a poor technique. At least they have a site to use, unlike FFXI for the first how many years? It's about time they get up to date with the Internet.
XI did all of its announcements through POL and the POL website which you had to access to access the game they had no necessary reason for a dedicated community site at the time.Every MMO announces things on their web site first. For those complaining that this information should be in-game, it almost certainly will be, though in a different form. If you don't want to read it, don't. Go ahead and wait for the patch, the rest of us will enjoy our glimpse at what is coming.
Presenting information in an alternate location in advance is a strength, not a weakness.Pretty much what I said...it probly isnt gonna be in game the way that they have it on the website. they didnt have that after story of the easter event in game at all, if people didnt read it online they would never know the story. im not one of the people who were complaining about it kuz i do go to the website often but i do think they should have it in game as a newspaper or something. but what everyone fails to mention is that it CAN be in game AND and the website. i have been waiting for someone to say that but no one has so ill finally throw that out there.
i played FFXI on the ps2 and xbox and i liked being able to read upcoming events and news on playonline before i actually entered the game (yes theres someone who actually liked playonline) and im going to switch to the ps3 version when it comes out so i would prefer to not have to go on my computer JUST to see news about the game.
just put some kind of newspaper in game thats exactly the same as the website and make everyone happy
SE's storyline quests have always presented the story in-game. Seasonal events have always been less detailed in-game than permanent content. I see no reason to believe XIV will treat these materials differently than FF did.

Not really trying to put up a defense for the fuzzy (electrical interference) images, but...I dont think they would throw in images of some of the stronger looking enemies so soon. Besides I think the entrance to the dungeon is probably going to be through one of the current dungeons...so maybe its just the front?
