I thought Companies would be like an entire linkshell would be dedicated. So having multiple linkshells dedicated to all the companies would be more beneficial ya know?

Well they are still working on Player Companies and that will be LS Alliance based I am guessing. Perhaps they will come out with a LS that you get from the NPC for Grand Companies that or they will leave it up to the players.

then suggest SE add it on the boot page which people would still choose to not read it. I knew lot of people who chose to not read the event or update stuff in ffxi.

I think the Player/Private Companies were supposed to be Linkshell's. SE stated that FFXIV wouldn't have Linkshells but would have something else. Then obviously because the Company system wasn't there at launch they knocked together Linkshells quickly to tie people over. Would explain the lack of options they have.

Public/Grand Companies are the overarching controllers and the Player/Private Companies work for them.

oh btw for the people worrying about getting locked in one companie, in the german version its stated that, roughly translated": an adventurer thinking about joining a companie should try out every companie to see which leading style of the 3 companies he prefers before making his final decision" which i think means that we can swich companies but the progress inside the companie wouldnt carry over.
