Just trolling. People are so used to MMO these days that are like fighting games that there's no real need for story and lore, so when an MMO actually does it, it's a "bad thing". State of MMORPGs 2011.

I didn't say lore was irrelevant, Im just saying that the presentation of the lore, when presented on a website, is contextually inappropriate. This is a video-game first and foremost, so it stands to reason that the game exist primarily on its own merits. Which is to say that it ought to exist without support from a third party source (official website, for example).

I acknowledge that it is SE's style to be elaborate and verbose on their websites, but perhaps in the future they should save that for the game world and take a more clinical approach for the website.

We spend our whole time trying to see behind the literary facade they spin for us to see what the actual 'content' is that eventually the artistic flare that might otherwise be appreciated just becomes an additional hassle.

People wanted an official site and forums for transparency, not to be lead around yet again.

However, an RPG is filled with storyline and lore. An MMORPG tend to have storyline and lore on their website as well. Ironically most people don't care for the stories in-game and I've played MMOs since the 90s that I'm well aware of how people will spam through convos/not listen/ignore text boxes and just want the loot. So it is indeed a video-game, but it's also an MMORPG that are a different type of game.

Most offline games don't utilize their website beyond a flash game or basic information. MMORPGs utilize their website for much, much more.

Having the information and lore of this nature is more easily presented to the player base through the official website. Having a way to bring it to us in game would take more time, more programming...and many people are already telling SE they have little time to turn it around. I think we should be focusing on the lore/information rather than the presentation.

SE has been surprisingly transparent. I never thought there would be some dialogue between producers and developers with the player base before this game. I'm starting to feel like players are becoming a little too self-righteous...feeling they deserve every single detail on their command...and things just don't work that way. We should be grateful for what we get, not demand information, then get information, and turn right back around and complain about it.

Having the information to ponder, speculate, consider, and just think about is entertaining in itself. Someone like yourself who has over 1k in posts, must know of this. I'm sure you post out of some enjoyment so don't act like any information given isn't another chance for you to debate, chat, even possibly troll over the content given. It's good for everyone and people just need to stop looking at YOU in the mouth.

Any news is better than no news.

Story should be on console games

this is MMORPG, everyone logged in to fight together

who care about NPC's story stuff? everyone can create their own adventure with real players

a lot of ppl who enjoy the game at this moment is...
    - crafter nerds
    - pointless world explorers
    - people who doing story quests alone
    - people who don't really want to level up their characters
    - RP

More grade A BS from Evangela.

Just because you don't like something (at least I think you don't ? I really can't tell from your horrific english), doesn't mean you can talk for the whole community. The vast majority of the things you post seem to be awful, poorly thought out complaints and stupidity, probably just going to ignore it from now on.

you suck, mmo isnt mmoRPG it needs to have a large exploreable world, back story and mainstory, if that existing bothers you, then you shouldnt be playing any form of rpg

as to the lodestone versus ingame, it should be ingame in some form, the game never tells you to check lodestone, for people who play mostly the game, lodestone does not exist. I understand why it may be cheaper right now, but they need to get more stuff in game. It shouldnt continue to be the case that you need some outside force to enjoy the actual game, they could even make a mini quest to get newspapers/articles and make the actual game even more enjoyable. I ll let it pass right now, but they need to work on getting this type of stuff in game in the future. it really shouldnt be that hard.
