Hi,
My son registered his game on the PS3, which we had pre-ordered for him.
He has been able to play a handful of times and now the disc won't play in the drive. The drive plays other discs but when he tries to play FFXIV, the game won't play. It wants the disc.
So for the past 2 1/2 weeks he has not been able to play. Is there no way around this? Honestly if someone buys the game, registered it, and has been playing it, why is there a need to have the disc in the machine? Doesn't that put unnecessary work on the disc player? Is this the 90's? It's an MMO, why does the person using his registered account for the PS 3 need the disk? It's ridiculous.
I just paid $180 to have that drive repaired in February and don't want to have to replace it again just for one game that won't work.

Please tell me I am mistaken and this game is playable without that disk.

Thanks.
