Farming Mats and soloing Fate Bosses

Though my own Hybrid Choco was quite happily solo-healing a 4-man exp-chaining party a few weeks ago.

(I'm fairly sure at this point I could duo the entirety of Wanderer's Palace with my Chicken if I could only sneak him in the gate... Heck, team me up with a SCH or DPS class with their own Hybrid Choco and we'd probably clear both WP and AK in better time than a lot of Duty Finder Parties!)

going to reiterate this: you get a choco barding by investing sp in only one tree (so full healer, full tank, full DD)

Just want to say this is true. When i got 10th rank it didnt showed up until i spend 10 SP into last tree of Attacker, a barding showed up.

Duration of chocobo increases from 30 minutes (rank 1) to 15 minutes (rank 10). Wait a minute... that's not an increase...

I did it, after tens if not a hundred hours, I've reached Rank 10 Chocobo.

Is it a server first? Maybe.. a World First? Maybe.. Who knows. If you have one already, then please link your lodestone so the date shows. I haven't heard of anyone reaching this yet.



I'll be posting a youtube video once it uploads with some tips and experiences with the different trees etc.

Hey man, sorry so slow to respond. Hit my response cap yesterday. The bird refreshes the buff on himself about 10 secs after it falls off, so I doubt there's an internal cooldown. Confirmed in both free and healer stance.

Ooooh. That's about a 75% uptime! VERY Nice.

Though it means my planned Hybrid builds might have just gotten a little bit trickier...

I definitely want Rank #3 Defender (+10% HP Trait) and Rank #4 Attacker (DoT Attack). I was operating under the impression that the +20% Slow Weaponskill from Rank #4 Defender would beat the Rank #7 Healer's +30% Healing in terms of mitigation over time, but it sounds like the Healer option could have a slight edge even if we're not fighting more than one enemy!!

Now I have to figure out if I prefer giving up +15% Crit (Rank #6 Attacker) for +20% Slow (Rank #4 Defender) or vice-versa. Drat...

I didn't know about the Rank 10 bardings until just recently. I had previously used up 6 SPs on the first three levels on Healer. However, after seeing the bardings, I really want the Attacker/Dragoon Barding. Don't think that it's possible now considering it's capped at Rank 10. So for those who split up their SPs won't get a Barding?

Not until they release Respecs (it IS coming, but it might take a while, we're all kind of hoping it makes it into patch 2.1!)

On the plus side, the first four Ranks of Healer are pretty much the best option to go for for any hybrid build worth talking about...
