Thanks so much! After almost 5 years of being a slow lalafell I almost lost all hope to ever move on normal speed!

    Trivia time!

The visual illusion where characters of different sizes appear to be moving faster or slower is called parallax. Although, this illusion actually goes in the opposite direction than the OP's experience (a Lalafell should appear to be faster, not slower) so I suspect that their issue is not due to this phenomenon.

Smaller characters appear to move faster than larger ones in a game environment where everyone is the same speed. This is because humans (and many other animals) use the size and speed of an object relative to its surroundings as a way to judge distance and our brain automatically adjusts the perception of speed of larger objects to be slower. Imagine a bike on the trail in front of you and a ship in the distance both passing you in the same direction. The bike is travelling way slower than the ship by an order of magnitude, but the ship is the one that appears to move far, far slower. In this case the environment is remaining stationary and the objects are moving through it, but the reverse of that where the object is stationary (the player) and the environment (the game's landscape) is moved relative to that frame of reference produces the same effect.

A great way to easily test this for yourself is to choose a really small mount and a really large one (I suggest the Yo-kai ghost mount and the Behemoth mount as extremes) and then compare your apparent riding speed with both. The small one appears to move faster than the large one.
