I just had a thought; is there a possibiity that they might go dual one handed weapon? I don't think there is a president for it.

Doubt it. Dual wielding will likely be the domain of thieves/ninjas when they finally get added.

As far as Dark Knights go, I'm inclined to believe that it'll be a job associated with either the Marauder or Lancer depending on whether the devs would prefer it to be a dps or tank class.

The dark knight class, in my opinion, seems more likely to be a tank job than dps. This is because every picture that I have ever seen of this class they are typically very heavily armored. That to me seems more tank than dps.

I believe this is a class that could fill both rolls but to be honest this will most likely be brought into the game as a tank, as a way to remedy the tank shortage issue. Im happy for either, i love Dark knight. Always been my favorite.

I did read your first post. You presented a very well thought out argument for how the dark knight job could be brought into the game as a dps. That being said, it still does not change my opinion on the matter. I think that is much more likely that it will be a tank job. They have mentioned the idea of hybrid roles, so it is possible that it may have the option for both.

In reality, the only actual instance we have to go off of is FFXI. That's the only game where roles like Tank, Healer, DPS and Support were clearly defined (and even then, it wasn't clear because of how horrible implementation was).

It's more likely it'll be a DPS but there's nothing to say that it can't be a tank.

It was statistically a glass canon ever most incarnations, except X-2. Despite its armor it sacrificed Hp to do more damage. In some games where HP and armor were different, the job had very little hp and heavy armor. Yeah they could make it a tank, but it would be like making the summoner into a DoT dps.

I have and will dispute that. as mentions above. It has been both a tank and DPS type class. Just for former more often by almost ever case.
