If your referring to the lion armor then you missed the shield. Its not a GS Its a large 1 hander and the shilled is in the bottom right.

My thoughts were more from a Tank standpoint thus why MRD or Gladiator as the primary and Thaumaturge/Black Mage as the secondary as for lore purposes... their power comes from the void. Which is much stated to be a negative place. So it makes some since to me in that matter and the second cross class would be dependent on what the primary would be.

As well i put Gladiator on the spot because whenever they are presented along side Paladins they are always two halves to the same coin. Using usually the type of weapons and armor.

I wholeheartedly say it would be Gladiator 30/Thaumaturge 15 to unlock Dark Knight.

Also i dont know the full mechanics and playstyles for the two tank classes so my information is just based on what little i currently know as well as what i know to be established both in 14 lore and in the lore of paladins/dark knights.

It is possible that they take a tank base and go DPS much akin to the Arcanist becoming the healing Scholar.

Given the Arcanist model I don't see a GLA or MRD based DRK being a tank class. The thematics of the job (the emphasis on offensive power and the 'hurt yourself for more damage' gimmicks) don't really line up IMO either.

I don't really see it. More recent incarnations of DRK (11, X-2, CC) from square have been favoring heavy weapons over the sword and board look of older dark knights.

My honest guess is that it's a DPS job crystal for the MRD. With Thaumaturge as the subclass and probably Lancer as the tertiary.

Waiting for Dark Knight, will most certainly play him as soon as he is released, even if he will suck. Though I have my worries about making Dark Knight from GLA, all those Paladins that in a second become level 50 dark knight? I feel new classes should be raised from level 1, or it is not much fun.

I loved DRK in FFXI, so I'll probably be joining as one as soon as they add it. But here's the question...will it be a tank, or a DPS? It could go either way considering how they worked in FFXI.

I would LOVE to play as a Dark Knight.

I would HATE to have to tank to do so.

In my world dark knight have never been a tank. They need high defense because they prey on their own life to enhance their damage. This results in them often ending up with low hp as well as high threat. A suicidal combo in the wrong hands, but oh so deadly if executed with proper care.
