Did you know there was a level 40-50 area in Black Shroud?

Alright so you probably do because you've gone there to complete your hunting log. Then you went back to standing in Coerthas and Mor Dhona waiting on fates. My Highest battle class is 43, so I just discovered the Sylphlands this morning when I went there for my hunting log. What a cool area, but there wasn't another soul there. I hate to see content wasted. Throw some higher level banemites in there or something! There were fates but nobody to do them. I'm thinking about FC fate groups and we can go there but yeah. I think the developers need to add a reason for the general population to utilize this content.

I had read complaints on various forums about the zones in this game being small and not much content, now I see the zones are even bigger than I thought they were and more 40+ content than just Mor Dhona. Like I said, my highest battle class is 43, and I'm at level 42 quests in the main story. Do these areas get played through?

Sylphlands is underutilized atm I'd say.. only real reason to go there may be a few stray log entries + SMN relic. :|

There is also another 40+ area southeast of Quarymill after you go through a short tunnel.

Main reason no one does the fates there is since most Fates partys are Pick Up Groups. If you died and do not got a raise it takes to long to get back to the spot. They need a hp save there then it would work. Also you can die on the choco while trying to get back or fate runs out of time. Me and and some friends did that, but it just slow and to much of a repair bill and a hassle. There are a lot of areas like that if they just put in more warp crystals or HP crystals. Then there would be a lot more fate farming areas.

There's a few quests up there, but yeah. It's pretty quiet for the most part. I rarely see people in any of the beastman strongholds other than those finishing up hunting log entries.

This. Nobody really goes through those zones unless its for a quest or hunting log as he said.

Also, Sylphlands is irritating as hell to pass through with winding and narrow paths and dense clusters of ranged mobs blocking the only path from one area to another. One wrong step and you get three Sylvan Screeches hitting you with heavy. Get in melee range of them and you risk drawing in more enemies that will hit you with various nasty side effects. Your options are to run away Baywatch slow-mo style or fight and possibly repeat this decision process if you pull more. The region has given me a new found hatred for those flying cabbages, I want to chop them all into sauerkraut

Nobody wants to run a FATE train through that mess.

Just shout for a raise. No big deal. I have had people shout for a raise in the sylph lands when I am in the vicinity, and I jump on my unicorn and come raise them. Nothing wrong with being 40+ and hanging out in east shroud, or south shroud, etc. If more people did it, then the disadvantage would be mostly gone because it wouldn't be an isolated area anymore, and there would always be people around to help, raise, etc.

I honestly don't know why people don't distribute more and seem to congregate just in mhor dohna. There are good areas all over the map, and instead people jump around in circles at the aetheryte in Revenant's Toll. It is kind of silly to me.

There's also this weird island you go to from Limsa via boat. I had to go there for my story quest (where you fight Garuda's dudes) and I noticed on there there's level 42+ side quests. Once I finished the level 40 side quests in Coerthas I realized I need to go to this little island to do the 42~43ish side quests. I guess when people fate farm their way to 50 they probably skip all these small areas. I like some of the quests (they can be really funny) so I try to do all the side quests I can!

That'll change pretty darn quick once the DoW/DoM Beastmen Dailies come out. Those areas will see more population, which is nice because they are underutilized and there's some fun FATE chains.

A lot of the game is underutilized because most people will go to the highly populated areas. My sis and I had a blast exploring the world and the areas that don't get much love- especially since we didn't have to deal with the unholy amount of lag that is found in Dragonhead and Revenant's Toll.
