True but you can always use the autotranslate for at least basic communication plus plenty of users speak multiply languages as well. This would be mainly usefull for repeated runs and when you're leveling up the secondary classes but I use this all the time and never had really problem to communicate with other in the dungeons. I have macros with auto-translations for a majority of the communications needs and that helps a lot as well as fact that I can undestand multiply languages as too.

Except for Copperbell Mines where you somehow need to get "don't kill the bombs!" across to the DPS, the three low level dungeons are perfectly doable without any communication. The bubbling water adds can be tanked, and the other bosses are mostly a kill adds/dps race. So it really might be best to just set all languages as viable (and read up on the Ichor in Copperbell) to decrease your long waiting time.

Not a fan of those mandatory dungeons myself either. Not because of the queues, which seem to be around 3mins(ish) for tanks, but because I get a lot of lag due to crappy internet connection. But I guess that's a bigger pain for the healer than for me heh.

Like you, I have had to wait, and wait and wait to get into Satasha. I spent three consecutive mornings waiting to get into Satasha. I never got into a a group, even after waiting 4-hours each morning. Since I was playing during the daytime I expected to have to wait - but this is rediculous.

It wasn't until the Columbus Day holiday that I finally got into a group, after a 1.5-hour wait.

I even tried to make my character a L24 Conjurer so that I could enter Satasha as a healer. Unfortunately, the lack of quests and the difficulty of finding sufficient FATEs made the grinding so unpleasant that I gave it up after a week of trying. I was (and still am) saving my Leves to advance my Weaving past the Dew Thread debacle. In the end I just bit the bullet and queued up as a L29 THM.

Right now when I decide to level my Marauder past 16 (where he is currently) I really want to do a boatload of dungeons up through 20. I imagine queuing as a tank would mean quick pops and I could chain together a few runs. If I decide to level a caster class I'll probably lean towards a healer for the same reason. I would like quickly assembled groups and wouldn't mind doing many many dungeons to level them up. FATEs are okay but would like to break the monotony.

Whoa, that is bad. I was averaging around 45 minutes as an archer (well, anywhere from half an hour to an hour). Seems pretty long compared to the wait on my gladiator (which ranged from instant to five minutes or so), but nowhere near what you were seeing. Guess I'm glad my gaming schedule tends to match up with typical North American busy hours if it can make that much difference.

My observation in duty finder is that whilst you are at the back of the queue, it won't do any matching, so it might appear as though nothing is happening.

When you reach the front of the queue you will suddenly see the other slots filling up, and generally it will only be a minute or two until there is a full party (by which time someone will more than likely have gone AFK waiting, and miss the window, but don't worry, when this happens a replacement is usually found very quickly, as you are at the top of the queue).

But yes, budget for up to an hour if you are solo queuing for the low dungeons, and if you can find a tank or healer to queue with you should find it much faster. And as others have suggested selecting all languages (don't worry, these dungeons aren't hard and communication usually it's a barrier) can speed things up. If you don't mind missing part of the instance to progress faster, then also select "Join in progress", although this can be a bit hit and miss.

Hey, pick up crafting while you are waiting in queue! You can switch classes as much as you want while waiting in queue. As long as you queued with the class you want to run it with, you can play anything else while waiting. So if you queued as a therm switched to a weaver. You can level your weaving while your therm is in queue. Once it pops you simply switch back to a therm and be on your merry way of killing.

This is not very good advice actually. I several times failed to commit to duty finder because I was trying to finish craft, an 47 sec is not enough to finish craft and change class.

I prefer gather resources when waiting for DF.

What are you talking about? How are you unable to finish a craft and switch class? We can preset our class and switch between them in a second. I haven't experienced a craft that lasts longer than 20 seconds and you are given a minute before entering.

Craft can easily be more than 20 seconds. For example if it is based on hasty touch+steady hand trick, that result in 30+ steps per craft.
