@SE I want to talk about cut scenes

I enjoy mmo's, I have been playing FFXIV for my free month and have subbed because I believe this is a good game.

My one problem is all the cut scenes. I know I'm not the norm when it comes to this but I could care less about the story period . I do not ever read quest text, I do not ever follow lore, and I hate cut scenes constantly interupting my game play. I made a new character tonight and was appalled that you can not even skip over the obnoxiously long intro scene.

I want a option to disable cut scenes already. I do not care if someone else wants to watch these things, I want nothing to do with them. I DO NOT WANT TO TURN A CORNER IN A INSTANCE I HAVE RUN OVER 60 TIMES AND BE FORCED TO ENTER THE CUT SCENE. Pushing escape and then O or having to mouse over and select yes is like pulling teeth at this point. Quest cut scenes that are unsinkable make me not want to play.

It's great that you guys want to tell this great elaborate story and even better that people like this story, I HATE IT AND DO NOT WANT IT FORCED ON ME ANYMORE.

PLEASE AUTO SKIP CUT SCENE OPTION OR MAKE IT SO YOU ONLY HAVE TO PUSH ESCAPE ONCE THERE IS NO NEED TO WAIT ON IT TO LOAD THEN SPAM ESC THEN HAVE TO MOUSE OVER AND ACCEPT. I DONT WANT THIS HORRIBLE ABOMINATIONS INTRUDING ON MY GAMEPLAY ANY LONGER.

^ Right there, this is a Final Fantasy game. If you dont like it, you're playing the wrong game! Now dealing with them like CM after having done it and just doing the runs for tomes sure but otherwise no.

You're certainly entitled to you opinion, but hoping for a Final Fantasy game to not enforce cutscenes is like hoping for a Metal Gear Solid game to not have a convoluted plot.

clearly this is the wrong game for you mate, its FF the series is known for it's epic stories and sweeping cut scenes.
Also its Square their sort of the kings of narrative gaming (along with Hideo Kojima at Konami)

OP is a bit overly dramatic but I see his point. They should at least give the option to skip (with a single key not some convoluted mishmash of button pressing/spamming). If they really want to force the story at least give the option of ESC to skip it after the first viewing. Problem solved and both sides are happy.
