FF14 not exiting properly since update

Im on PS3 and last night it would hang on exit for me aswell, causing the PS3 to force quit the application. happened twice.
When I first logged in about 6:30p Pacific Time everything was very smooth, didnt notice any lag at all. I was very impressed, it seemed to run better. Then maybe an hour or so later I get disconnected to a black screen with a 9000 error followed by a 5003 authentication error. I had to force quit also. After I logged back in, it was so laggy. got alittle better later but not as responsive as at first.
Im getting alittle tired of all the emergency maintenance and it not solving anything. Maybe they should take some more time and figure out exactly whats wrong so they can actually fix things correctly. On another note...I dont get how they new the world transfer was going to be very busy and yet they didnt plan for it??? Why didnt they wait until they could get it done right?

Added comment: Im sure they are under allot of pressure, I can understand that, but they should really consider, that getting things done right is much more better than rushing out something they are not sure will fix things.

No messages, just a black screen. Started immediately after the update.

I'm having this issue as well when trying to exit the game having to manually exit out through task manager.

Same Here - Have to use End Task via Task Manager each time I exit the game since the update.

I can confirm that this does also affect me.
Windows 8
Logging out and selecting Exit just goes to black screen.

The patch of last night (yesterday) didn't fix whatever happened from the last patch.
So yeah, still happens.
I have to End Task to get rid of running FFXIV
