World Transfer: ¿Need to change Character name?

Finally i've been able to transfer from Balmung to Ragnarok but now it says that there is already a character called "Merle Valentine", so i have to change my name to be able to log in, but.... searching in lodestone profiles i didn't find any character named "Merle Valentine". Then... why i have to change? is this a bug?


Please, i've been playing with this Character name for 2 years... i don't mind to change if there is a player with that name already, but i don't want to change because a stupid bug...

Yes. If i try to log in, it says "you need to change the name......"

I just want to transfer to Sargantas to purposely change my name... then go back to Balmung. LOOK AT MY NAME. JUST LOOK AT IT! It's not right! D:

Exactly... i hope Square-Enix will give us a chance to rename our character if this is a bug, because i would like to recover my original name...

I was stupid and used my Fantasia potion to change my race, and now before I can even do the world transfer, it's going to take a few days before the server updates my character with not being in a FC and a Lala instead of a Miqote, sigh.

I feel your pain Merle, I'm going through the same problem. I'm going to name myself something inappropriate in hopes that I get reported so they force me to change my name again so I can then change it to my original name which I should have never lost with the transfer.
