Fake Shadow Produced By The Sun?

Steps/description:
1. There is a massive shadow going all the way through maps from West~East. The shadow size varies for different times of day. It looks to be produced by the sun(?) Over the course of an in game day the shadow will gradually shrink and disappear, or grow from nothing. Is this design intended? It breaks my "immersion" and messes with my eyes, please fix. <3
