Wow did I post this? Exact same situation I am in. Same servers and all!I created my char on Hyperion (Legacy Server), at the request of a friend. Then it filled before my other friends got in, so they waited awhile...ended up going to Diabolos. So, I've been waiting for transfers myself to hit up Diabolos, being a non-legacy player I was under the impression I'd be able to, but then SE puts out the notice that Legacy SERVER can't transfer to new SERVER (nothing about characters...). I just tried doing transfer to check it out myself, but it gives me "unavailable or under maintenance", could just be flooded so popping that message on me due to that, so I will continue trying in hopes I can get past this Legacy nonsense

You guys muz be lured by the threads in beta 3 to join legacy servers.

So your friends won't transfer to your server, you were stupid enough to roll on a legacy server, despite all the warnings, and you're blame SE?
Your friends aren't really your friends, and you're a moron for not reading... Anything about the transfers well in advance.
A Legacy player that just joined Sep 2013? :O

Yoshida said it in the E3 live letter, I think. Legacy to non-legacy transfer should be allowed ~ 6 months after launch, if I remember it right
The restriction is not about if the player is from 1.0 or the character. It is about the economy, who everyone on the server has access to it.
As example:
On legacy servers are much more shards than on non-legacy servers. In 1.0 you got them from gathering, from crafting leves, from killing during farming, almost from everything. I gave some shards to my retainer because it was near the cap at my character already.
If you are on a legacy server, you can buy cheap shards, transfer to a non-legacy server and get easy rich if it would be allowed.
