yes yes, these transfer restrictions that have been talked about for ages, reposted and restated for ages were specifically done to screw YOU.

Get over it. You should have coordinated things better, or researched more when you realized that there were different kinds of servers.

Just because you can't get the hang of figuring out simple things doesn't mean you were singled out to be screwed. And obviously you aren't the only one affected by this because there's a dozen new threads about this every day where someone is crying that they can't transfer. Ugh. Post in one of them so you can all cry together.

If you do not resub, you'll be losing forum privileges in about... 20 or so days. So please, if you're going to complain, do so now as much as you can, while you can.

As far as getting angry at what's going on now. That's just because of the current toxic climate of the boards. To some degree, it will calm down, slightly, once the non-paid accounts from the 37 day free trials lose their forum privileges. You'll still have to deal with the ones that are paying, however - which is fine, IMO. They're here and invested it means they get to say their peace, even if it's infuriating to witness.

No, you can create new characters on non Legacy servers or on Legacy servers that have character creation restrictions lifted. But.. you cannot create or move a Legacy character to a non Legacy server.

Character creation restrictions status for each server is reported and updated weekly in the launcher as well as on the lodestone. They lift the restrictions and reapply them regularly depending on the status of the server traffic. Expect server count to be erratic during the xfer phase.

Simply being on a Legacy server does not mean you are Legacy because they allow new character creation of non Legacy chars there and now xfers. You check your account status in your SE account page by logging in and checking your status as well as the info for the character, it will say whether or not you are Legacy.
Legacy players had to go through a specific line of objectives including having acquired Legacy status while subscribed to ffxiv 1.0 to get to that point.

To be fair, those of us (at least myself, not to lump all into one lol) that rolled to a Legacy server have never claimed to be Legacy, because well...we aren't. Isn't there a way SE could see who is a true Legacy character or not, and allow the non-Legacy's, that ended up on Legacy, to roll over?

See if they allowed this, but new account send him all your legacy gil, transfer to new server and manipulate. this is why anyone one a legacy server cant get off till all the servers economies stabilize and become more similar.

I would rather reroll with my friends than wait a million years for a server xfer from legacy to non legacy. The guy was stupid for doing it, but if you have "5" friends like he said he did, it would take a week to play with said friends. I'd say their company is worth more than just playing solo.

Either that or make new friends on the new server. Or I guess do what this guy did. Don't sub and complain.

Wait I thought that if you are on a legacy server regardless of players status you can only transfer to another legacy server? WHile if you are on a new server then you could transfer to any server you wanted as long as the server is open to character creation.

To be perfectly honest...
1: this has been a known thing since before launch
2: if playing with your friends is so important, why is rerolling so abhorrent? Of you don't have a FC or LS you don't want to leave , then all you're losing is some progression but you'll be with your friends so it won 'to be that bad right?
