Awww logged in today to find the problem is back again after trying the 'delete the 3 files' fix.

It seems as though putting it into borderless window and then setting it back to fullscreen sometimes fixes the problem though. So thankyou to the person who suggested that

Definitely could do with a patch though, fingers crossed they can address this issue soon.

People, why do you delete these 3 files? That's pointless. I gave you working solution on page 3. in this topic - just change your Full Screen mode to Borderless Windowed mode (which is full screen aswell, no difference) and it will work just fine. When they post the patch you can go back to Full Screen again.

This does not work for everyone. For exemple in my case it doesn't matter weather i start borderless or fullscreen mode. Both of these mode make my mouse very slow and let it stutter. This however only happens OUTSIDE the game. what indeed does work is switching to the opposite mode. But when you restart your client it will break again untill i restart my pc.

raptr is causing all these problems with mouse lag, did alot of trubble shooting today as long as raptr isnt open i get no mouse lag...... cant even just turn off ingame stuff the program cant be running!

if any of you are running any type of game or overlay software may want to start by closing it especially raptr

i even started the game had no lag at all and opened raptr and WATCHED it go super slow its raptr!

hmm it could very well be raptr, asuming everyone with this issue is running it

after you mentioned that i checked the raptr forums and it seems with the raptr update that happened in the last 1-2 days a few people have mouse issues with various games as well as a raptr dev having it confirmed with rift

    http://raptr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28915

wont be able to test this myself until tomorrow tho

edit: actually did a quick test, opened raptr and logged in > mouse lag, closed the game and completely shut down raptr then logged back into the game > mouse worked fine

I have also tested this repeatedly. (glad I checked back here)
Raptr does indeed seem to be the source of the issue. They patched on 10/14/2013 and I did not snag it till FFXIV patch day which is why blame instantly went to SE for the problem :x.

Launch game with no Raptr. No issues.
    Launch raptr. No issues.
Raptr detects im playing FFXIV. omgad make it stahp.

Launch game with no Raptr. No Issues.
Turn frame limit while inactive back on. No issues.
Alt tab a bajillion(scientific) times. No issues.
    Launch Raptr. No issues.
    Raptr Detects I am running FFXIV. Mouse input breaks. ;_;

Whatever Raptr is doing also can't be fixed by simply closing Raptr, you have to reboot FFXIV entirely to correct it.

Other things to note: I am launching the game using steam so I can use its overlay for friend chat and screenshots. Steam seems to have no impact on this issue but I figured it might be worth mentioning as another possible variable in the equation.

Thank you so much for mentioning this. It occurred to me for a second yesterday that this problem MIGHT have been due to the recent Rapt update, but I kind of dismissed that idea without really trying it because I didn't think that Raptr would be capable of affecting the game like that. But damn, after turning it off, everything works so much better. I have been stressing out about this all day, thinking that it might have been a problem with my graphics card or processor or something.

    SkOODat, you're a genius.
