and ignorance spreads. there is a limit to how much you can do when it comes to a grand opening of anything. you can never be prepared enough in those situations, the preparation after ,however, lasts forever. server congestion or people all doing something at once will always slow down others progress so lesson here is grow up, stop bitching, and try again, you'll get through way before tomorrow. and if not its only a day away=3

Been F5ing since 7am - so, six hours now while I casually do other stuff - and never once have I seen my anything appear in the 'Please select your current World.' dropdown.
Don't believe the lucky few that got it.
I just keep getting this error:
"Unable to transfer at this time.
Why Was My Transfer Declined?
- Your character may be enlisted in a free company, or may have signed to a free company petition.
- Your character may be currently logged into the game.
- Your character's retainer may currently have items for sale.
- The calamity salvager may still possess items from your inventory (only applicable to characters transferred from Version 1.0).
- Your character's retainer has not been rehired (only applicable to characters transferred from Version 1.0).
- One or more characters subject to transfer may be located in the Mordion Gaol.
- One or more characters subject to transfer may have logged out while in an instanced area."
NOPE. None of that is going on with my character... So..?
The problem with your line of thinking, is that some errors cannot ever be seen until the large amount of requests happen. You don't actually KNOW where something might break. Something you can predict will buckle under the strain, but some things, you just can't know.I understand and I think we all know that the errors are being caused due to large amount of requests. That is the problem, even we knew that would happen. Just looking at what happened at Early Access, all the restrictions applied when creating characters, it was expected to be a huge load of requests.
So, I can't accept the excuse "due to large amount of requests" anymore, I'm sorry.
It sounds rude, but didn't Square Enix learn anything about the previous incidents (only in ARR)? Nothing at all?

While I understand that people have a reason to be mad, that doesn't mean that Camate has to be the the one being abused. True, he's a rep. True, he's making statements on behalf of the dev team and what-have-you, but that doesn't mean that we have to go through the ritual of "killing the messenger".
That's all I'm saying. I am sure that those of you who have worked retail know full well the butt-ache with dealing with angry customers when you are only a rep of said cause with little power to do anything but relay a message so that the bees behind the hive get busy enough to make the magic happen.
It means nothing at all, I'm sure, but I'm sorry those of you who want to transfer are having hardships. Lol. All I ask is that if someone magically happens across an error message and sees my name, don't transfer me. Please. Hopefully they get this all sorted out with the quickness, for both side's sake.

First get your choosen server confirmed. Only then you'll be able to pick your current one. Several F5s might be needed between those 2 steps. The reciep stays the same. The amount of time needed remains unkown.
I find it kind of funny(=sad) how SE already warned us that the actuall execution of the transfer might take a few days but it actually takes less than 5 minutes. If they exprected so much more request then they are actually getting right now. (Well lemme rephrase: more request then those who are able to get through) why aren't they prepared for this.
They worried about step 2 when everyone's stuck at step 1. Guess it will be much better by tomorow but noone really wants to be waiting in a queue for days. Why should we. I fail to see why they didnt rent some additional servers for today to run the service. That's like the most common thing in the world to do. You can even rent that stuff for a choosen amout of hours.
