Going to disregard the majority of this post, but can someone explain to me why people love to cite the 2.5 second GCD as a reason why Titan is supposedly difficult?

Part of issue #2, "disregard" the post, and ask an obvious question. Maybe if you didn't main a PLD you'd have more insight.

She's right, though: the GCD is not an issue at all. If you're standing in something, you don't stay there and hope you can get the heal off before the bad stuff kills you: you get out of it, THEN you cast your heal. If you're really worried about not healing the tank in time, that's what your cooldowns are for. A dead healer is worth about as much as a dead tank in most events.
HeavensWard theme song lyrics:
-"We can [Stance]dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't [Stance]dance
And if they don't [Stance]dance
Well they're no friends of mine"

Allow me to disregard your post... ;-)
Btw.. #2 is just my own personal issue.. Worst end game community ever? (thread)
The fact is GCD is a general issue added with latency and inconsistency of instant/off GCD skills.. Fights that require a LOT of research prior to going in.. it's not about intuitive learning anymore. It's about memorization:
Phase 5:
Mountain Buster -> Stomp -> Plume -> Bombs With Landslide -> Mountain Buster -> Plume -> Rock -> Landslide. (Repeat)
.. Move before plumes come up.. study the rock formations/patterns. Memorization > Skill.
Stun duty for [Insert stunable mob name]... auto-attack until Eruption/Voice, etc..(unless it's off GCD OR you've memorized his patterns). Btw regen is on GCD 2.5 sec instant cast. But yes you're right spell cast time is almost on par with GCD that it's almost unoticeable.
Basically i'm just saying SE has work to do and I'm just wondering why ppl feel they can just be so utterly disrespectful to strangers they are playing with for a common goal.. And maybe I answered myself.. DF = no consequences (as of yet). I've heard a few ppl switch to DPS roles because tanking/healing gets you chewed out faster. It's less noticeable (unless dps race) for dps to take the blame. And then in 8man there's 4 dps.. so unless you have a parser you may not have an idea who is slacking.
Talk about hypocritical.
You state this as a problem:
Someone politely asks a question and you respond with this:
Newsflash: You're part of your own problem!
Same reason people blame Lag as to why he's "difficult" even in times I've done it yesterday I only seen 1 person blame lag while the rest who were doing bad actually admit to being bad at dodging.
I have no issues with the GCD in Titan HM. I do however get lag in there for some reason even though I have "excellent" connection and no lag any other time. Honestly it just took a few times to recalibrate myself to move earlier for the bomb phases but the lag does exist there for some reason. Before, I moved right when things popped up on my screen and moved with the team...only to randomly drop dead on the other side of the screen with nothing around.
edit: when i told my company leader about the lag the first thing he asked was "are you on ps3?". I've heard that apparently that is a major contributing factor for a lot of issues on Titan regardless of connection speed. Although, like most bugs in this game, it seems to affect half of the people and not the other half.

There is no logical answer to this. The 2.5s GCD makes no difference what so ever on Titan. It's just the slight latency problem that users experience, which is easily resolved by learning Titan's pattern and moving prior to the abilities he cast.
