THE 2 major coincidental issues with FFXIV: ARR

#1 The game's faults
#2 This "new-aged" onliners

#1 The Game.... It's clear the game has issues all around: mechanics, basics, content, design, etc.

#2 The "new-agers"... It seems as time goes on the english player base gets more and more cynical, meme oriented, & less helpful. In the old days people were much nicer and willing to explain. Now the first thing is sarcasm, criticism and egocentric thinking. It gives people anxiety when it comes to doing a role that puts you at risk for blame. ie. - tank, healer, or a dps with a given task (ex. stun, etc.)

I've completed Titan HM twice via DF solo queue and both times were JP parties.. no it wasn't 1 shot deals... but even after 2-3 wipes there were no name calling or finger pointing. Ppl apologized for their mistakes and they talked through issues. 2-3 wipes in an english party and its.. "quit sucking, noobs!" "worst party ever!" "don't you know how to dodge?!" Now add in the DF latency issue + 2.5 sec GCD and you've complied the challenge into "stress." I've had an NA tank leave within 20 seconds of puling Garuda.. my only guess is was he felt the dps wasn't going fast enough to his liking? No clue, he pulled.. started tanking then 20sec later left party. I was warned he was a douche-bag from the second I went in with some LS buddies.

Going to disregard the majority of this post, but can someone explain to me why people love to cite the 2.5 second GCD as a reason why Titan is supposedly difficult?

Part of issue #2, "disregard" the post, and ask an obvious question. Maybe if you didn't main a PLD you'd have more insight.

Same reason people blame Lag as to why he's "difficult" even in times I've done it yesterday I only seen 1 person blame lag while the rest who were doing bad actually admit to being bad at dodging.

I agree 100% I started MMO's back in 1997 with Ultima Online and Everquest in 1999 and people back then were so different, While UO was not really a raid game, EQ was and when new raid/group content came out with each expansion, you grouped up and spent hours every day, sometimes weeks at a time trying to clear one new area and when you wiped 100x, no one got mad, you just got up and kept going till you eventually won.
Now a days with this newer generation no one wants to work for anything, they want everything handed to them, or they want everything nerfed to be made easier and when you do try to do a dungeon you wipe once and they cry and bail.
It really makes me quite sad

To give you an idea of how bad it is, I did Brayflox's Longstop and when the duty formed the healer looked at the tank and asked are you new? the tank reply'd yes and the healer then said "ugh another loser, sorry but I do not heal any dungeons where the tank is not in at least AF armor" and he bails.

She's right, though: the GCD is not an issue at all. If you're standing in something, you don't stay there and hope you can get the heal off before the bad stuff kills you: you get out of it, THEN you cast your heal. If you're really worried about not healing the tank in time, that's what your cooldowns are for. A dead healer is worth about as much as a dead tank in most events.

You aren't being very helpful or nice, and you don't seem very willing to explain at all.

And for the record, I don't "main" anything in Titan. I play SCH most frequently followed by WHM, then PLD, then occasionally BRD. The forums require me to select a "main class" for some reason.

I'd still like to know why the GCD is causing some people issues.

Edit: Now my main class is level 5 "Harvester". Whatever that is.

Don`t care what some little prissy kid claimed he did when he was 2, I am 34 and was 20 when EQ1 Came out, I was there when Gfay was the main hub for buying and selling followed by East Common Tunnels then PoK and I was one of the first animal tamers on the Great lakes Server in UO so yeah I did play both at launch.

Wrath of Wowtards happened..... and those spread like wildfire or the plague and infected many games and these games were forced to dumb down its content and turn into some kind of fantasy CoD... they are teh bane of modern MMOs
