Can we please get less ambiguous patch notes in the future.

Im not crying, Im didn't misinterpret the notes. Infact I didnt expect much and relatively happy with the changes.

All Im saying is there are a lot of people asking the same question, how many tomes, what did they change ect. SE should give clearer notes to prevent confusion, trolling, and useless posts like this one and many others.

It prolly wouldnt have been that much harder to give people the info they want in the notes.

P.S. Can we please get the notes in advance / during the downtime? This is more wishful thinking but it couldnt hurt besides if they couldnt implement something id rather them just say "XYZ couldnt be implemented atm sorry." if they dont want to "release notes too early"

The notes were unambiguous to most people, though.

No. The largest change wasn't even mentioned in there, regarding exploits revealed in the last two weeks. It's even possible that that some of this isn't mentioned due to a technicality where it is a server side change, not a client side change. They're vague intentionally. Do you ever see them addressing "trial of wind was adjusted in difficulty, causing three fewer sprites of two levels lower" in the patch notes? If not, why would you expect the number of tomes, the rate of gain, or other details to be mentioned?

The community reps address concerns as they find them, and give a heads up for hot issues.

Not really sure why I'm arguing though ... other games have been able to provide notes in advance. Not sure why SE can't. The level of detail isn't the problem, the poor communication is.

It's not SE's fault, people decided that adjustments and additional areas = Myth tome cap a week would be raised. SE isn't ambiguous when it comes to stuff like that, never were even in XI - If they were changing the cap of something they'd state it specifically.

SE doesn't have a problem with getting notes out in advance, they just want to keep things "a surprise", though on the XI side they release portions of it early and then the full breakdown on patch day.

The level of detail and poor communication are linked, in response yes they can pick and choose what to feed us; however badly worded one sentences are ill recieved or misunderstood.

The must have known well in advance the tome rate changes, no one is asking for tell me if x mobs spawn instead of y. however you could pass on key information that you know the community wants and is expecting.

the exact wording used was: "The number of areas where you can acquire Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy and Mythology will be increased as well as the amount you can acquire."

The above is too open/fluffly and left to much interpretation from the user; while you can argue SE did no wrong, the didn't communicate correctly or set correct expectations.

But you can't pass on what the community is expecting. The community expected the cap was to be raised with no real reason, simply because they had said it so many times it became a chamber of echoes. You can only pass on what you know to be there, asking SE to comment on what factions of the community thinks will be unsatisfying for everyone involved.

It would be great if we had a close relationship with the SE reps and they could comment on rumor, but they're generally too aloof and uninvolved. We just aren't great friends with SE. It's a shame; business, resources, dunno, but it isn't really satisfying for anyone.

Their CS team is almost as good as their coding team.

It wasn't passed off - They said Eventually the cap would be raised and they would tell us when it is expected to be, so in the end, the community decided this hotfix = cap raise despite SE saying otherwise.

Sure it may not have been ambiguous to you or "most people" but look at the first page of the forums, there are people asking the same question, go to Toll and look at the shouts, every 2 mins someone is asking about the tomes. Its a small complaint, but its just inconvenient when everyone will be asking the same questions for a week when they could have easily said what people wanted to know.

As for the devs saying "the amount of places you can get tomes and the amount you acquire" that could of meant an increase in weekly, it could of went both ways.

Again Im not upset or anything just trying to defend normal people from the white knights (similar people who supported the fatigue system http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abE09-tqhoM). SE could of saved us a lot of time (the people asking questions and the people answering them) by being less vague, and its like how hard is it to be clearer?

fyi - i dont care about the cap; but i think you misunderstood what i meant/said. To be clear what i meant is the community wanted to know x dungeon will give y tomes on z date in terms of communication.

I didn't mean to talk about changes to the game, which is a completely different topic
