Some things are best left unchanged.Greetings,
Since the hot fix that was applied in mid-October, we've been seeing reports that the Dark Devices FATE was adjusted/changed. However, we have confirmed with the Battle team that there have been no adjustments made to this specific FATE during the hotfix or subsequent updates.
As we've read a few reports from users about what was/wasn't changed, we'd like to get more information to pass along to the dev. team. The best way to do that would be to submit a bug report with as much detail as possible so we can closely examine any issues that may have arisen.
What exactly is DD?

Dark Devices, a FATE in somehwere I forgot cause i Haven't played in weeks, where enemies respawn infinitely so the goal for fast exp is to just slaughter the adds until the last ~1-2 Minutes of the fight then kill the Trigger Mobs in the back to move on to the next.
Hmm. Seems familiar, I haven't been into FATEs ever since my first Lv 50 DoW class, but IIRC it's in Northern Thanalan.

The story quests for most jobs teach you a bit of how to play your job TBH. I know when i was on SMN I learned real quick how to stay the f**k back and manage my enmity as well as control Topaz on multiple targets. Admittedly the entire aspect of controlling your pet really vanishes Endgame outside of Obey>Contagion but the point remains. At least for GLA/THM quests they teach you how to manage your enmity (Gaining or losing) and core aspects of your job (Getting hate on multiple foes, or say The importance of Fire/Ice affinity).
Most of the games teaching is through Job quests, and a lot of it is learning through doing as well. but to be perfectly honest doesn't matter how fast DD Is, this game is intended to get you to 50 quickly, no amount of FFXI Nostalgia is going to bring back crab parties (I know, i enjoyed Old FFXI parties too despite their horrific boring grindyness)... That and DD isn't really the problem, as absolutely no FATE will teach you how to play your job.
Which actually brings me to my next point. Happy they're raising dungeon exp, Hope its worth it.
Welcome to Modern MMO's, If its not as close to WoW as possible, Companies don't try it... And for good reason, Most people who play these types of MMOs are rather slow and afraid of change in any form... So the game has to be Quick leveling and downright stupidly simple to understand game-play, which people still manage to suck at. I hate it as much as you do but that's Modern MMOs no one wants to try anything new they just want to copy what their study groups say will sell based on other MMOs. Its like the single player market. Companies go for shovel-ware cash grabs based on whats popular at the time, which ironically fails in most cases (*Cough*Capcom*Cough*), but the braindeads at the top of the failing gaming industry still seem to think that continuing down the same path thats leading to companies filing bankruptcy is the key to making money.
Also disagree with your comment about MMOs being all about endgame and that leveling shouldn't take long. Some mmos are indeed all about endgame, I personally think that is a horrible way to make the game. The game should be fun no matter what level you are and leveling should be an interesting part of the game in and of itself else why even have it?
Ahem... Kinda got on a rant there, but yah. Playing it Safe is the name of the game for game companies these days, don't expect any more :\

Unfortunatelly very very true. As was correctly said "You can't beat WoW by copying WoW" Meaning those who want to play that already are playing that.
The gaming industry should be the most innovative system in design. But due to various reasons, cost being a big one, higher costs less risks you want to take and new IPs are risky. New concepts are risky, Hence the, for want of a better term, stagnation in innovation especially in within AAA games. Innovation does come from small independent companies.
Human nature desires the recognisable, to stay within a comfort zone. That also applies to software.
There is a similar fate in Natalan in Coerthas, ive seen some people doing it because it still works like Dark Devices does- there's 4 boxes to destroy and FATE mobs that spawn continuously. You can ignore the boxes until the last minute or two and get lots of mob XP.

FINALLY i can lvl my bird again! please fix this bug.

So look.... people who are level 50 find it very annoying that you guys wanna just sit there
for 15 minutes and hold up our seal grinding and stopping other fates from popping up.
The funny thing is, the people who complain ab out DD killing lambs,
usually are the first one to do quest turn ins on quests where you can farm exp.
Lols...
I hope the Devs revert this. Seeing the rage flow when someone kills the lambs early is good for a laugh
