We finally get transfers!

My Spidey sense's are tingling:

Telling me there's gonna be a lot more people saying the same thing.

Not much of a server transfer when you cant go where you want to go, and if you're Legacy, the restriction's just make things worse.

There's what, 5 NA Legacy servers out of 30? Something like that, and that's not counting EU into the mix.

Yep, this has been what I've been... complaining about for weeks now. Legacy can't leave legacy so they're asking 20 some odd servers worth of non-legacy to basically go to the legacy servers to be with their friends rather than let the legacy people leave their already over-populated worlds (based on personal observations that every day around afternoon through night hours I see a great deal of the servers locked for char creation).

All I see happening here is non-legacy trying to transfer to legacy worlds to be with their friends only to be hit with mogstation going down due to a flood of traffic, servers being restricted for char creation, etc thereby eliminating their chances of using the free 5-day server transfers all the while their legacy friends are still stuck on their legacy servers with no where to go but another over-populated legacy server.

So the Loadstone has maintenance at 5am till 6am central. I guess after that the world transfer service will be up?

Nah the transfers are being done through Mog Station. Lodestone and Mog Station are separate.

They're doing this to MAKE UP for the fact we couldn't create our characters on those servers, to tell us we can't TRANSFER to those servers with their "apology free transfer service" would be Public Relations SUICIDE lol

I don't think they would let their game die by opening transfers before they're ready to accept the influx of characters

You're not going to win any medals for being a Square Enix apologist so let me break it down for you. Beta 4 was too short and was riddled with 90k and other errors. 'Early Access' was opened with these issues still present all the way through launch including duty finder issues. Fast forward a little bit to the subscription 401/601 little fiasco in which people's cards, paypals, etc were being rejected erroneously. Let us also not forget the fact that the game was re-released because it flopped previously due to poor implementation and programming.

Bottom line is that Square Enix has a clear history of poor customer relations and service, ridiculously poor foresight and poor management. I will be pleasantly relieved if my friends can join me on Excalibur tomorrow (or sometime within the 5 day period) but I am not holding my breath.

Hard to forget that they opened their servers before they were ready for the influx of players. Which caused the Trail of Tears, aka 90k. Which also is the reason why so many aren't on servers they wanted, making the transfer necessary.

I'm not trying to be a sour pickle, but SE hasn't increased server capacity, meaning the crowded worlds are still crowded and the full ones are still full. Also making it a first come first serve transfer basis is actually unfair even to you new players.

The website is going to be swarmed. There's still 1.0 players still stuck on servers they want off of, and the process being first come first serve is actually detrimental to everyone.

I hope I'am wrong, having it go smoothly would be fantastic. However after all that's happened, that's beyond hopelessly optimistic. It closer to borderline crazy.

If I'am wrong though I will be most happy to come on here and post admitting I was wrong.

I just wish Square devs were as good as Blizzard.

WoW character transfer was so smooth and fast. I admit I raised an eyebrow when they announced it could take days for a transfer and you can't log in during the process.

Don't tell me you're doing all these transfers by hand, Square, please. :3
