    FFXI did have some real challenging moments, don't kid yourself. I doubt you went in there and 1 shot all Sky bosses or Kirin. Like most games you have to learn the 'dance', which can take up to many hours of wipes to figure out. Once you figure the boss 'dance' out, it's always easy after that.

    Blossom, I didn't mean for them to make it like FFXI.. just make content harder. Fighting a boss for hours was just dumb. Sure it made for some epic stories, but to all of us who did it.. never again lol.

    Currently the hardest content SE has is forum posts... 1,000 max characters? Only so many a day? Casuals my ass...

    Aside from some people calling others casuals or insulting anyone, I'd agree with Blossom on the raiding. One fight being impossibly because of a broken mechanic doesn't make it hard core, hell if anything it's a rip off on the devs side just trying to hit that mark where Yoshi said he expected something like 100 or less players to complete it? (Don't remember actual number, just making a point)... Well give me THAT then! And make the WHOLE raid like that... Not just the final fight.

    Of course keeping in mind that this game is created for casuals first (Yoshi's words, not mine) and hard core players as a distant second...

    The problem with that processing is that every game has done this in the last 8 years and every one of them has failed... Don't appease the hard core, you've got no one posting to youtube (other then just boss fights) and you've lost a HUGE majority of your youtube marketing since most people go to a select few names. Sure there are way more casual players then hard core, but pleasing them vs pleasing both is stupid and lazy.

    I do like the fact that there are a few different ways you can beat these boss fights depending on group make up... so that's a plus. But we all know *current*CT is going to be a one nighter for people who are clearing *current*BC and that's going to suck even more. I'm cool with his plan to nerf difficulty of previous raids so that ALL players can get in and see the story lines first hand and experience the boss fights first hand (since having the gear a tier beyond makes them void anyways)... I just want more raids, and not more easy raids, more progression raids. I don't see SE providing this but I'm willing to give them more time (since there isn't anything else out there atm anyways)

    I don't really think anyone can call all of endgame easy or "casual" when Twintania remains unbeaten...

    You and other people need to learn the reason why it hasn't been killed before you continue coming into threads acting like it's the hardest thing in the world. The fight remains unkillable because a gamebreaking bug with twister positioning where even the rng of the gods cannot prevent the eventual one shot of everyone in your group. Baring that the fight still remains hard and cannot be walked over till twisters, but this fight would have been done by atleast a handful or 2 groups by now had it not been for the bug.

    How about this for a possible solution that could suit every player of every skill lvl, to.keep 'most' people happy.. have the option to choose difficulties for dungeons and primals. Say, that how everything is now is 'normal' difficulty.. all fine and dandy. Now some complain they can't beat something? Have an 'easy' mode that's nerf'd down. Have it with the same mechanic, just damage 'dumbed' down, so you still can learn the fight. Of course, not as good of loot, if any. Now, people who claim 'normal' is too easy? Have a 'hard' mode, where maybe some ramped up mechanics and damage possibly? And then once that becomes easy for the elite group? Have an 'ultra mega fuck you up' mode lol. Now people will say "well, what if people just beat everything in easy and now try to come to our level abd just mess us up" .. maybe simple solution.. you can't move on until you beat 'normal' .. beating normal unlocks 'hard' beating hard unlocks 'U-M-F-Y-U'..

    I hate to say it, but I agree 100% with Blossom, it's been a long time since I've seen really challenging (and not optional challenging) raid content. The height of my personal raiding career was T5/T6 in BC WoW, when your raid gear made you stand out and the instances took months to clear and hours a week to progress. MMOs have been casual for a long time, I don't think anyone has even attempted to make a truly challenging and rewarding MMORPG, these games feel more like a social network than a video game now.

    They are gonna be releasing HMs of existing dungeons for this. Also extreme mode. This is nothing new, SE knows this, but we need to give them time and not demand shit from a just-released MMO.

    Difficulty is tuned so that the majority of people can complete encounters. You'd be amazed at how many people are stuck on Titan or have bought wins because they simply don't have the capacity to beat it on their own merits or are at the mercy of other people who can't. And this is supposed to be a fight you're supposed to be able to beat via the Duty Finder.

    You guys are getting blindingly mad about Twintania, even though the devs stated barely anyone would finish it, we're still all assuming it's a bug.

    SE's definition of extreme and hard is completely different from mine, and I hope most others...here is how I sarcastically see it playing out.

    Hard Mode Dungeons = AoEs do more damage, maybe 1 or 2 extra mechanics, good players will clear it all within a few hours, then farm it at the same rate as normal mode.
    Extreme Mode = The boss starts instantly killing 1 raid member every 5 seconds from 30% hp to 0% HP.

    I do agree, this MMO just released, we can't expect the world, but they pitch Coil like it's an extremely difficult raid, the first 24 man will be a "casual raid", if we do get some quality content it won't be for a long time. I do love this game, but I'd enjoy it more if I could raid more than 45 minutes a week / there was content which will take longer on the horizon.
