While I agree to an extent, I'm not the kind of person who likes to have each and every space in my inventory or retainers filled to the brim. I use that space to move a lot of things around. I level a lot of classes, not all the time but enough that saving a lot of old armor, or multiple weapons is necessary especially as tossing it out and purchasing another would cost about 200k. I don't save everything, but I do save up what needs to be to rank up and that can turn out to be quite a bit. 95 of 100 slots in my inventory are already just gear and weapons. That's RIDICULOUS. Even after repairing and just tossing what I couldn't sell, my inventory is quite full. Not entirely, but enough that makes farming really painful.

I don't belong to an 'end game' shell or one that does a lot of events that make gil. I'm maining in Alchemy and the price of glue gets so heavily undercut on my server, especially with the implementation of quest mobs dropping items making it less valuable. Same with dyes, and every other consumable. So tossing old equipment just for 'space' is a little unreasonable with the inflation, and low level gear costing upwards in the one hundred thousands.

More inventory space may not be necessary, but working out how the inventory currently works would be better. I don't see how an item on your body counts as being in your inventory at the same time. While it could still show up in the list, the status of "worn" could be attached to it. Seeing as we carry so much around, being able to change jobs on the fly, it seems like a reasonable proposition at this point.
