thank you so much! that's the info i was searching for! n__n, now i'm sure i'll buy the 6950 and unlock it in the future ^^I got a HD 6950 and I run FFXIV on on the following settings:
Windowed -1920x1080
8x CSAA
General Drawing Quality - 10 (max)
Background Drawing Quality - 5 (max)
Shadows - Standard
Texture Quality - High (max)
Texture Filtering - Highest
AO and DoF - Off
With these I get 60fps out in the field and in Ul'dah 40-45fps. You can get a lot better fps though if you do this:

It basically gives the HD6950 the same performance as the more expensive HD6970 by unlocking the shaders. The HD6950 has two BIOS settings which you can switch between just by flicking a switch. One you can mod one you can't so I have the HD6970 settings on one (which did make a big difference) but I am running the standard BIOS atm as cooling does become and issue with FFXIV running them and fan noise was annoying so I am awaiting some extra cooling before I run the HD6970 BIOS full time with quieter fans.
*i'm going to ebay lol*
No prob, I just did a bit of research about the temp's it reaches as I was concerned because it was at around 85-90C when running FFXIV but it seems that is nothing to be worried about and is just normal so going to switch back to the HD6950 BIOS now. When I get a chance I will run the Benchmark if you want on both so you can see the difference I can't remember what it was exactly but it was pretty big.
*EDIT*
Got the benchmark scores here though I am sure it was over 5000+ with the unlock before so going to see what I messed up, but this is what I got so far running on high settings:

Also I forgot that I changed my BIOS back to a HD6950 and used this unlock method as it is supposed to be safer, but I haven't really heard any complaint's about using the HD6970 BIOS method really so go with whichever you want I guess. Thinking about it I am sure I got the 5000+ score with the HD6970 BIOS as that was the one I was running for a while until I did this switch so maybe that method does work better. Here is a link to the other unlock method that keeps the HD6950 BIOS which is supposed to put less strain on the card.

Yes FFXIV run around 75-95C with ATI there noting really you can do not if you want to waste money on more Fan or a new cooling system for your Video card. One of the dev team did say that SE is going to fix the issue with computers so i hoping it would lowers down the temp and allow us to play in higher setting.
In beta1 i could not even play
Beta2 i could play pretty good but uncap FPS was bad
Beta3 was 60FPS
Then it away was 85-95C too patch 1.17 which made my ati drop 10-15C![]()
