    I kinda thought this also. For one I think everyone moves faster, so it takes less time. Also the scale seems off, like far off characters look too small and dont seem to increase or decrease size at an appropriate rate for the speed. When I went back to FFXI last week, it was amazing how slow everyone moved. Probably why it took so long. In my opinion we all are all moving too fast in FFXIV.

    Spot-on. A lot of the maps are actually pretty big in scale; what makes them seem that much smaller are the movement speeds, and the lack of any real cluttered/maze-like zones (i.e., Yhoator/Yuhtunga). SE also tailored all of the animations around the GCD (including the run cycle); naturally, you're going to need to match the cycle's timing up with the movement speed.
