I still think SE needs to make it mandatory for people to watch the scenes the first time through, like when you first start the game you have to watch the opening movie the first time.
This will force people to accept the fact that the cutscenes are part of the game. Also anyone who reports someone for watching the scene should be suspended because you know for a fact they grieved someone for it so that is more against the terms than the person who was watching it lol.
I agree with this 100%, its the only way to be 100% sure no one misses any game content on their first playthrough. I'm dreading doing those quest after reading threads like these because my options when I get there are, skip scenes and not know whats going on or why I'm fighting this guy and that guy, or watch the scenes and get left behind to miss fights entirely or whole sections of a dungeon. it's a very unfair position for a new comer to be in and one that NO OTHER final fantasy game in history has forced on players.I still think SE needs to make it mandatory for people to watch the scenes the first time through, like when you first start the game you have to watch the opening movie the first time.

If I have to watch that stupid opening scene anytime I reinstall or go play on a friends PC, and have to watch that intro movie everytime I create a new toon or join a new server then why not make it mandatory for all scenes when a first timer is present. True people will still complain but in the end every member of the team still got to experience the same amount of content, and vets still have the option of forming their own parties so they can speed run. Sounds like a win win to me but I am sure someone will nerd rage me next for supporting such a radical idea
FYI OP, you can get around the 1k word limit by simply editing your post. Keep this in mind next time.![]()
I don't think he knew about the post limit and was making multiple post because of the 1000 character limit. I did this til I found out you have to go edit your post to be able to add additional text. but man you guys are quick to attack someone for every little thing they do. The guy said he was new, and by his posting habit that is obvious. You attack him for that, and wrong use of the term "end game". The guy just said he bad experience in the game and came to the forum community only to get this kind of welcome. God no wonder people say the community for this game is horrible
I'm Also new and didn't realize this was a "thing" but yeah I have to agree, not knowing there where people like this in the game as a new player and joining on my last few levels of story, all excited for the conclusion, only to get harassed for not skipping it would piss me off.
Whats worse he wasn't complaining about the complainers in game, but about being reported for not skipping game content, and again I agree thats childish and would piss me off too. Did you guys bother to read his post or did your nerd rage kick in and you just went into attack mode. The game was designed to welcome new MMO players (like Death and myself) to the world of MMO's, its a damn shame the MMO vets in here don't do the same. I agree with him, vote kick should be left only for idle players and leaches, not new comers getting used to how things work, and experienced players should group together to avoid "newbie grief" after all you are experienced enough to know how to do that. Can't expect a newbie to do what you would do, thats just unfair

So long as watching the cutscene does not count toward inactivity then that would work. In Prae I watched the cutscenes and got pulled through the dungeon. I got locked into cutscene after cutscene pretty much as they ran through and only spent a few minutes moving out of a 30ish minute run. They just kept coming back to back for me and the only choice i would have had was to skip or watch so I did almost nothing but watch cutscenes for the whole dungeon.
This kind of sucked also since I missed half the dungeon essentially. I think that ring should be put on people like when you start an instance for each cutscene. Cant move from the ring till everyone is present.
These Duty finder complaints are hilarious. The answer is simple when it comes to a random match making. MAJORITY RULES. If majority wants to speed run and you don't. TOO BAD. If majority wants to watch cut scenes and you don't. TOO BAD. If you want to be guaranteed to have it your way make your own group of like minded individuals and proceed to do so. Stop being a whinny child.
There is no majority in "mandatory" only fair. In fair there is no majority, no opinion, and no one rules. I'll stand behind mandatory scenes because its a fair option. That situation the girl above you described as being pulled from one scene to another and basically watching them for the entire dungeon is just as bad as skipping them all entirely. Why should it be one extreme or the other? Mandatory middle ground, its fair and no one gets reported for childish mess that way. Voicing your opinion on a forum is not childish, reporting a player for not playing the game your way, ISThese Duty finder complaints are hilarious. Vote kick is a much needed feature of this game. I see ppl go afk mid dungeon far top often. They need to impliment anti abuse measures of corset, like no kick until 10 mins in, auto remove or allow kick if a player has not moved/used any skills in a certain time frame, things like that. I have played many games that have a kick feature, it is not abused nearly as often as people would have you believe.
Game will become F2P before long anyway.
