People can't handle options.

You can choose what dungeon to grind? Do the same one everytime then complain about it.
You can choose to skip cutscenes? Grieve whoever wants to watch it.
You can skip mobs? Don't you dare pull them, nerdrage incoming!
You can buy very good armor with tokens? Not going to chose one, want them all, now!

And then, they ask for vote-to-kick, saying that it wouldn't get abused, that people aren't that bad, etc. Hahaha!

I don't play games like this a whole lot because of things like this. There's always those super gamer nerds who forget this is a game and is supposed to be fun. I don't have time to sit at home and stare at a screen all day. I have a life, job, family, and college to worry about. So obviously if I'm making time for this game its to have fun and I'd like to not be bullied like a middle schooler. I'm making the assumption most of us are adults or soon to be so start acting like it people. If you don't want to watch the cut scenes at the end then go fix something to eat, play another game, go to the bathroom, play with your genitals. Just find something to do for the 30 seconds it takes the newbies to watch the cut scenes. Its not that difficult people.

Another poor soul who apparently has never played an MMORPG and thinks they are the center of the entire FFXIV ARR Universe. I will give you this, your post(s) are at least 10 times longer than the other 999 posts complaining "I was playing the game *sniff* and these meanies told me to skip scenes *sniff* and hurt my feelings". It's an MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game, you are gong to run into jerks, and often, grow up and learn to live with it. Life lessons delivered to the innocent children.

*edit* I do agree Vote Kick can and will be abused, but is better than dealing with AFK leechers / bad players making dungeon completion impossible. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

It goes both ways:
If you want a guaranteed speedrun, go organize your own group.
If you want a guaranteed story, non-skipping run, organize a group.
If you use DF, you will get a mixed group. Neither can force the others to play your way, so either accept it or organize your own group where you set the rules.

Vote kick will not be abused if they limit how and when it can be used. I don't think it will be possible to kick people for simply not playing as well, or for watching cut scenes. Most likely, if a player is inactive for a certain amount of time, the kick option will become available. Perhaps a window will pop up saying:

"______ has been inactive for X minutes. Would you like to remove and replace?"

As far as people going through the story the first time, I agree that they should be entitled to watch the cut scenes during the instance. I believe the right to view the content overrides the right to skip it. After all, that's why people are in Revenants Toll shouting for SR parties.

It's really nifty because you can separate out your topics this way without making post after post.

On a more related topic. You have every right to watch those cut scenes the 1st time your in there. If you want to by god do it. But those other 7 people have every right to leave you behind and keep going if they don't want to wait on you.

I know you're trying to come off as being on the high ground with your condescending tone, but there's a 1000 char limit on posts, and you can only bypass that by posting and hitting Edit to paste in the text over the amount. But keep on teaching the basics of paragraph construction while not realizing why the poster actually posted so many times.

Alright, so maybe I was a bit hasty with my sarcasm. I'm not so small as I wont admit that. However, I stand by the rest of my statement.
