Also, your acct can get hacked if someone lives close to you and they are on a laptop, they can get your password wirelessly. All they got to do is is intercept your router signal.

you right...i can easily makes millions,but i stop selling stuff on the market for the past couple weeks cause the cap is 3mills for the world transfer...anyways i just changed my password,and im not sure if thats even safe anymore...what do u guys think? i do not have apps anything like that...am i safe?

Random people on the forum can't tell you if you're safe.

If you have a smart phone of some kind, the app is free. SE even has a nice little step by step guide for it that even an idiot could understand (http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/otp/). This is a good way to keep people off your account even if your computer does get compromised.

You should run a security check on your computer. It's much more likely that you got compromised and they got your password than them brute forcing their way through it. You should also change any passwords you have for more important things like bank accounts, personal emails, etc.

You should also avoid using any of your passwords in areas that aren't secure like public wi-fi areas and the like. It's also very easy to get compromised through areas like porn websites and illegal music downloads.

OP I don't know why they didn't clean you out honestly its the only weird part of what happened to you, but like many have said here there must be something you did to compromise your computers security and therefore your accounts security.

Indeed they can, if they can break the encryption (I assume the launcher uses https which is already proven very secure)

Iv been playing mmo's for 11 years, havnt been hacked once. You can keep your token which is just a cash grab, aimed at the less tech savy.
Hell the word "hacked" isn't even used correctly 99% of the time. Someone got your password =/= hacked.

Looking at your stats...how did you level 5 of the crafting classes to 50 without having to level mining and botany as well?
Your combat classes are lower level as well.
I'm just starting to get into crafting/gathering myself and wondering how you had all the gil needed to purchase the required mats.
Curious if there's something I'm missing. My impression was that you either had to buy the stuff if it was available, have someone trade it with you or go farm it yourself. Well you obviously couldn't of farmed the higher level stuff, so how did you do it? Would love to know.

I wouldn't know, as I havn't looked into it because I have no use for it. It's not always free, and it will cost you shipping and handling.
