Especially since DL is only 5010 Philosophy.

Getting a full Vanya+Rose Gold/Astral set (all equip slots) will take you well beyond 17000 tomes, and then you have to 5-meld them to make them hot, which will fail a lot, and cost you an arm and a leg just in materia. Or months to convert and make them yourself.

17000 tomes is 4 million gil in tome materials (at 30k per).

But then you can use it for vanity purpose (when vanity is out), and it's much better than DL, and debatably equal (some say superior) to AF2. That's your reward, just don't delete it.

I don't Play FFXIV for Vanity. But trying to Penta-Meld/Forbidden-Meld cost a lot of gil trust me.
