
OK I see what you are saying but I have to say my experience of soloing DFD and your on Marauder seem vastly different. I'll just have to agree to disagree.I do more damage on Gladiator for the simple fact that I'm tanking and I am using phalanx very often, and also rarely miss with heavy stab. If not for my feint, foresight+fracture and featherfoot+jarring strike combo, the fights would last much longer than 2-3 minutes. I don't even equip maim for the simple fact that it's pretty hard to build 2000 tp and rather just use it on skull sunder. I wish I can say that my gear is all wrong, my stats is all wrong, and I completely do not know what I'm doing is the reason my marauder sucks, but nope. At least pugilist builds 1700 tp with pummel right at start.![]()

Oh, I agree both classes are really overpowered when you compare them with the other existing classes. Especially, ARCs lol, bring 2 ARC to leve groups and they will tear down every single mob.
While nerfing seems to be 'the man getting you down' I do agree that archer is a bit over powered. Badass? Yes. but not balanced. Reminds me of SAM back in the day... they nerfed us... we complained... then we got over it.
As of now... if you don't think there is some balancing needed, try a party w/ 3 archers. As a marauder... I may as well just stand still still and ls chat. Mobs go down before I can even get in range to voke them.
In the end... I'm not sure if we bumped everyone UP that the game would be all that better for it. The ENTIRE game is pretty much a zerg fest as it is.

For those that missed the point by 100 miles, this isn't about archer or thaumaturge being overpowered. This is about what a marauder is suppose to be slow but very powerful.
Marauder at it's current state is a "weak-sauce, miss-fest, hate machine." For god sakes, I am using siphon tp hoping to at least get maybe 500 tp from the mob because I miss too much. At least dark knight in ffxi, which was the weakest embarrassment of job, had a cool 2 hour that when partnered with a kraken club makes a very dangerous killing machine.

just because he said its not what its supposed to be in a flashy way doesnt change the reality, marauder is supposed to be a weapon type that destroys opponents, its supposed to be slow but powerful, right now that doesnt come through at all, it should probably have more attack buffs native to the class, or powerful weapon skills, or some job based mechanics for build up damage, or something. Im not going to say if its actually weaker than other classes, because i dont have the data, but it definately isnt the class that gets huge power as it continues.
I have no problems with my marauder.
