I kind of gave up on some of the Nancy Drew minds in this game when some guy started trying to trade with me while farming Apkallu for the Eggs.

33 Conjurer killing 30 Apkallu in one spot, unable to keep up to three spawns and when I sent him a tell, he accused me of being a bot.

I didn't know at the time these white knight warriors try and break bots by spamming trade and yet even with the obvious crutch and me sending him tells, he had decided I was a bot.

An ATK bot that sends tells and farms mobs for eggs 3 levels below me with a healer but he had decided.

There are a few generations of bots right now on the servers.
You have the "attack everything in a front arc" old bot, V1
You have the "attack everything in range" better V2
You have the "Port to everything in range and attack/harvest" which i think is the V3
Then comes what the OP stated, bbbbots doing quests/fates, advanced V4

So far i had a counter to kill bots, which was opening trade when they have agro. Bot dies. If it is a V1-3 it will stay dead until operator checks on it. If it is V4 it will auto respawn in the area it was stationated and continue what it was doing after around 5 minutes.
Sadly now the V1-3s or some of them are using an ingame mechanic to make them immune to be traded to, effectivly making them invulnerable.

I sometimes wonder, why not everyone is botting? Would make it even again.

I've done it on Magitek gear, I think it was pure luck on how I hit it, but the armour just slid across the ground and I moved at running pace.

Nottttt a good idea to actually go to bot websites, tell people to google them, google them yourselves. Naming bots is a good way to get a forum ban and going to their websites is a great way to get a keylogger. :P

Combating bots, or people you THINK might be bots is a sisyphean task not ever worth the trouble. Design a better mousetrap and someone will design a better mouse. Just give up.

I won't tolerate the insult of crappy "mice". If I spot an obvious bot while gathering, or a spammer FLOODS my chat window while I'm still entering an area, I will do everything in my power to inconvenience them. Let them go through the trouble of signing up for a new account and tweaking the program to last a little longer before they get banned again. They are ruining the game, I'm going to make them work to do it.

The hacks that are out are pretty crazy for this game atm, but they hacks are so obvious that I wouldn't be surprised if SE mass banned them soon. Also, there are bots teleporting between gathering spots, there are probably teleport bots out for fates too.

There is a straight up infestation of teleporting, Lalafell gather bots around Ul'dah on my server. They actually teleport INSIDE the rock, which makes them impossible to target and difficult to see the name unless you look at them from just the right angle.
