    Complete the crafting/gathering logs?

Until now with my weaver and goldsmith I have been diligently crafting all items in the logs. which can be quite a waste of time/gil looking for the right material and then I end up with gears nobody wants apart from few selected ones.

Is it really necessary to do it or I will get the new "recipes" just leveling the classes up? I imagine there is an achievement (maybe a PS3 trophy as well?) for it, but I wouldn't mind to skip most stuff for now.

I'm leveling a crafting (goldsmith) and gathering (miner) class at the same time... I've simply been creating crafting materials (like ingots or slabstones) and selling those as I level. Crafting materials sell better than gear.

I tend to mine more materials than I need to actually level crafting...
If you arent gathering, the materials to make those things tends to be far cheaper than the crafted item, so I make at least a tiny profit.

With mining at only 30, goldsmithing is already 40. Filling the log would cost too much for too little of a return.

If you prefer fast leveling over grinding like I'm doing,
leves are excellent EXP for crafters. Try your very best to turn in HQ items... they give FAR more experience.

New "pages" in the crafting log open up at the appropriate level regardless of how many of the recipes on previous page(s) you complete.

The only benefit to filling the log that I can see so far is the bonus exp you get when you make something for the first time. It's not insignificant.

Doing a recipe for the first time earns an XP bonus. And, as you have noted, there are achievements for making/gathering lots of different items (I Made That/I Found That). No PS3 trophy, though. IIRC, the only PS3 trophies for crafting are for making/gathering your first item in a craft/DoL and making/gathering your 1000th item in a craft/DoL. Aside from the XP bonus and the achievements, there's no reason to complete your crafting or gathering logs. It has no bearing on getting new items in your logs; these are revealed solely based on your level.

All right guys, that's exactly what I wanted to know. No need to waste time on filling the log, then. I can use the resources to make stuff to sell for some good gil instead. No wonder the diremite webs were never enough (even if I still need to make some of those velvets for my classes). And no more inventory spamming either.

    Thanks to all.
