    Having some problems gearing up.

    Hi guys.
I just started playing FFXIV two days ago as an Archer.
    I'm currently 14archer/15physicall and I haven't bought anything yet.
I just have around 20k gil, so I need some tips on making money.
I'm currently saving all the mats I get, to see if I can use them after while crafting.
    Should I sell everything?
Also.. since I'm using the initial bow, I'm having some problems while doing leves as the Stray Dodos one (if I recall correctly)

So.. should I buy anything? Should I save money until I'm higher level? Should I craft my own stuff?

    Thanks in advance.

Just go with the LV1 Arrows all the way to.. I dunno LV30 or 40. There's no real difference between the arrows yet. Gear isn't important as well. Just pump up your VIT and do a bit in STR and DEX. can reallocate it once SE fixes the attribute stuff and adds new gear.

At the moment I'm wearing my Bowman's set @35. But mainly for the looks I love that hat!

    There are designed "archer"-sets @19, 29, 39 if I'm not completly mistaken

And just keep doing leves, you'll earn money from that. I've done botany at the very first beginning and just NPC'd everything and it was enough to buy arrows to do leves and stuff. But in the end selling shards made me a bit rich. Currently the shard prices dropped so heavily it's almost not worth the hassle haha. Keep them for crafting ;P

Depends if you are religious on you crafting or not, you can always make money selling crystals/shards even though the market on that has plummeted since the beginning. Just do leves and behests and sell stuff to vendor, money will start flowing in once you start do the r20 leves. Gil really isn't a problem like it was in FFXI, only seems like it would be slightly at first.

Only buy bows , and use arrows lvl 1 / 2gil . The hit rate is lower but you'll find your way later . Buy arrows higher lvl for difficult leves or NMs . I spent a stack of arrows 150k on a NM and the higher arrows lvl 47 are 250k a stack WTF !!! So , manage your gils , doing leves give a lot of gils , if you don't craft , sell all drop . Million is very easy to get .
    Good luck and welcome .

Definitely keep shards for crafting especially wind shard, since that seems to be the most commonly used shard.

Keep doing the leves, you'll make plenty of money to gear you up when needed, and don't worry too much about gearing up really. Once you start doing the rank 20 leves, you'll start rolling the money in, depends on the available leves, and if you want to start crafting, always start off with local leves, you won't lose any shards this way.

Thanks for all the tips ^^

I'm currently leveling almost all crafting class, focusing on Leatherworker, Carpenter and Blacksmith, so I guess I'll have to look up some recipes, and start making my own stuff when I'm done with the "daily" leves.

There a lot crafts you can do with only one or two mats, that and you can do crafting leves which are really great.
