Actually 1-10 is the easy part, the time consuming part is 10-15 before the first dungeon.

I've got all classes to 15 before on my alt and 1-10 is always easily taken care of via the hunting log and the FATE that spawns nearby. 10-15 is when you start to feel the grind at odd hours of the day when FATEs spawn slowly and there's little people.

But since it's so low level, just picking on a mob and grinding them is good supplement to experience. Personally I think 1-15 is not perfect, but not broken either.

After that I queue dungeons and gather/craft so I wouldn't know how FATE grinders feel afterwards.

i say people should not whine about lvling it is so freaking easy. it's not like grinding in FFXI for days just for one freaking lvl. But to me that was half the fun having to work hard to get some where.... now all mmos are geared towards these whiny a** causals

I know one of the main things about this game is the ability to play multiple classes on one character.

BUT, the reasons you list here are the main reason I am considering just literally creating an alt character for different combat classes.

If I do create a new character than I can get all the quests back, I can choose a different free company, and I can experiment around with starting in a new city.

It kind of defeats the purpose of being able to play multiple combat classes on my one character. But, I do not really feel like fate grinding to 50..and I really don't like the idea of trying to do fates alone from 1-40.

The way I see it is they give us 8 character slots..I might as well use some of them.

If you can't get your character from lv.1 to lv.50 in less than a day, than most ppl consider this the worst MMO in existence. The actual MMORPG's are dead and gone, the new wave of "everything needs to be handed to me NOW!!" MMORPG's are here unfortunately. Hopefully in the future ppl will relearn patience and the golden age of MMORPG's will come again.

I assume in the future there will be more story quests to play low and high level, more dungeons high and low. Right now I'm just focusing on my main and doing gathering. When I gear up my main I will level archer to 50. It may seem a bit slow now but in a year there will be new content to level up high and low level jobs so this will not be a problem.

2.1 seems to be more geared towards end game content and some other things but I expect further content to have new story quests starting at low level and working their way up.

The FATEs in low level zones like lower la noscea and central shroud can all be solo'd.

After level 12 or so, you should be going to Aleport. You do FATEs in Aleport (preferably with a FATE party... there's almost always people in the zone) until level 20.

At 20, you go to Quarrymill and get in a FATE party there. Quarrymill can take you all the way to 40 if you like, but most stop around 32 to go to Dragonhead. Level 39-40-ish you can go to Revenant's Toll (way better than Dragonhead). Once you hit 43-45, you go to Northern Thanalan (Cerulean Processing Plant). That will take you to 50.

Very much like FFXI and the "best" leveling areas.

I'll tell you what happens... running around as a level 7 Lancer struggling to gain experience because nobody is doing Fates and the Fates don't scale properly for me to solo them.

I'm on a very populated server (Behemoth) and as of right now, Central Shroud and Western LaNoscea are both empty with roughly 6-7 people in them, and nobody is doing fates.

I'm asking you, how do I level? my hunting log alone isn't enough and since I've done every quest on my 50 and nobody is doing fates, what can I do?

    you want my suggestion? ...

Take up crafting... Gathering? Be a useful asset to the community? Jump ship?

    (just saying)

when i leveled thm all i did was spam blizzard II for 30 levels... it's not a great way to learn the class but why on earth would i slow down my exp rate?

like i said, reset side quests when u switch class, make dungeons give WAY more EXP than they currently give and reset guildhests for each class

    problem solved.

The only significant point that can be added to ANY of this is that there should be more viable ways to level your characters that are of EQUAL opportunity. As it stands FATEs are far and away the most efficient, therefore making it the ONLY viable option for someone who wishes to level at the best rate of exp per hour. A lot of content here is wasted due to the fact that it's just not a better option to experience grind dungeons/levequests/quests etc when there is something else that supersedes it by such an immense margin such as FATEs do. Make the experience equal on most, if not all levelling options so as to make the experience that much more fun. I don't see how that effects the difficulty in any way. FATEs are what the majority do right now, but there would be less congestion in places like Coerthas (which on some servers isn't even possible to do for PS3 users) if everyone and their mothers weren't fate grinding their faces off, because there are no other worthy alternatives.
