People who ask for marks in DF

Lol, what? You're never gonna lose hate huh? Hmm never knew PLDs were Hate-keeping gods. Always figured those were Warriors. Wild Zumi used FlashSpam. The attack was ineffective.

Not all DPS classes can use purely AoE.

Also, if you keep aggro on everything with everyone hitting different adds your DPS are terrible.

I mark in public DF's of regular dungeons. The ones used for SR's I don't. I assume the people I'm playing with are brain dead and need it because that way I won't be disappointed when they actually turn out to be brain dead.

I kind of treat it as a test. If they can attack the marked mobs successfully then I'll continue to try. If they are all over the place and I know that it's going to be an uphill fight I just let them pull the mobs and die.

Sometimes I'll mark a mob with 1 to indicate that it's the most important mob of that bunch, the rest being trash. But I feel like certain circumstances need markings, but not all. That being said, with how bad a lot of my DF's are I mark just as a precaution. Wiping usually takes more time than me marking, even though it means I have to do even more work.

Don't think of marking as telling your group to kill 1 first. It's more "ill have enough aggro on 1 to keep it off you I youchoose to focus it. Anything else, it's your ass".

As a tank I never mark mobs, why because they should be aoe-ed down because its faster that way. It bugs me when people ask me to do this. I do not care what mob you are attacking because its not like I am going to lose hate on any of them and if you are single targeting you are making trash pulls take longer. It's very inefficient to focus 1 mob trash mob down in AK vs aoeing them all.

So please stop asking for me to mark mobs.

Mm, I would not say that.
Some classes such as Pugilist, have very weak AoE by comparison to their ST.
So for them, its better to focus down a target, particularly because AoE threat isn't very powerful in this game.
The marking also helps single out priority targets, so the worshippers who summon Soul callers, you want them to die first before anything else since you do not want that extra add u.

Of course, if you over gear the heck out of AK, just AOE it all down.

If you and your friends are heroes and severely outgear the instance and cannot lose threat or even if so kill them before they can do anything, then yea.. marking may be an unnecessary step. But for everybody else, it's still good practice. E-peen stroking thread!

not that it would matter because a majority of what ive seen completely ignore any markings .. or roles/jobs .. or anything at all other than pretending to be useful

I agree. Clearly this guy came staight from that game if he thinks everything everywhere can be AOEd down.
