You were asking about diremite? Right?

They did increase the amount of mobs... I believe. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...56#post1410856Is this official? Because I was in the diremites area for a quest last night (at around 2 am CET) and with my surprise I saw I was alone. So I started farming a bit. I'm pretty sure that in some spots there was an extra banemite and I could go from one to next without waiting a second. Or is it because I was alone?

I know its annoying when you come across people like that, but remember too that as long as you do something like30 or 40% of the damage to a beasties - even if someone else tagged it first - you will receive credit/quest items/etc from it ( and the person who tagged it does too ).
It gets annoying tho when its a higher lvl character farming inconsiderately like that. I know ive even asked in all forms of chat if I could have a few cuz its just for a quest then id be on my way, but x_x they just ignored me. but I eventually got what I needed using the damage-tagged mobs tactic, tho it took longer to succeed :P
I would have /laugh at them

It would help mitigate the problem a little if people didn't just butt heads so much. First tag gets full credit, otherwise it is given out by % contribution. So whoever hits it first doesn't kill it and that mob counts as two. These farming groups tag as fast as they can to 'claim' it and then burn the mobs down as fast as they can. I suppose many people don't understand the mechanics.
Power rules in the end though. Someone can try to push you off your little 'camp' as much as they want, but they can't PvP you if you ignore them. They can't do a damned thing. Learn to use the mechanics to your benefit. And tomorrow there will be more spawning grounds too.

Seeing as how I've been farming Diremite Web pretty strongly the past few weeks to pad my gil-pouch...First tag gets full credit, otherwise it is given out by % contribution. Tag the mob ASAP as only first tag gets credit for item drops (as far as I've seen.)
Burn mobs down as fast as possible to get them to respawn faster.
Time it so they come up in a pattern that lets you tag them as soon as the first one drops, meaning better control on everything.
I personally don't care, so long as I get the first hit in and others don't disrupt the spawn pattern too much.
as I was saying above, doing a certain amount of damage to a monster even if u weren't the one to tag it can grant u the quest items...but I don't know if that is true also for regular loot items from the monster. probly not, but I know for certain it counts for quest items and kill credit ^_^Seeing as how I've been farming Diremite Web pretty strongly the past few weeks to pad my gil-pouch...

This brings me back to those old MMO days hah.
One crypt with a coffin that could only opened for the boss every 30 minutes, there was a line up, literally every player who wanted a turn just waited in line - whoever was next went right by the coffin and waited.
Or even item chests with a 2 hour cooldown for an important quest item... that didn't always drop, line up of players - with some people trying to steal the spawn by disconnecting on the chest and reconnecting a few seconds before the cooldown and then trying to "ninja" it. So much drama.
Man, I don't want those days to ever come back haha

As far as Fleece and Diremite Web go, there will be more to be had. This brings me back to those old MMO days hah.

I am amazed to see the greed that is shown even by some posters ....why in the heck "mine' for money? this is a game and the economics are for the game to be enjoyable, not to be a factory. I hope people will not forget the purpose of being IN the game. Strange times to even have to say anything about this
