    Uhm, the problem might be that XBOX360 controller is still not officially supported under windows 8. However the XBOX360 controller drivers can be installed - download installation for Windows 7, after downloading, right click installer>properties and set compatibility setting to Windows 7, apply, and install. Might be worth of try

    Didn't know that. Interesting to see that a Microsoft product does not support all Microsoft Operating Systems.
    Still I've not had this issue in games I play through Steam Big Picture.
