I feel dirty for bringing this game up, but Runescape had a pretty good method for pricing in the grand exchange. You couldn't price your item above or below a certain percentage of that particular item's average selling price over the last day or week (I forgot which it was). I think something like this could really help stabilize each server's economy.

The thing here is that the people complaining about undercutting is people that needs HQ mats to HQ an item. I still can make 200-300% profit of an item posting it at what you would think it is ridiculous prices. For example weaver gloves: 3 earth crystals, 2 wind crystals, 1 Hippogryph leather, 1 Twinthread. Using the mats in nq you spend 1500g. But if you use HQ mats it will be like 9-10k.

So I will post the item below market average but if someone undercuts me by a gil I will post it at 10k and my undercut problem disappears. And I still make a HUGE profit.

The reason there is a bit of an issue in this game, is there is no fee to adjust your market price. It's free to undercut constantly. With a blind bid system, you can still undercut but are less likely to get undercut again beyond the first one. AKA if I undercut something that sells for 100, at 99. Chances are if someone else comes up to undercut, he also puts it at 99.
In games where you can see the price, the ones I've played atleast, there was always an AH fee to putting an object up. So if I put up my 99 item again, and someone comes along and puts it up for 98, I'm less likely to take it down and put it back up for 97 if I forfeit my AH deposit.

lol I don't know how much crafting you do or how often you try to sell things but this is not the right approach. If we continue to lower our prices the way we have, there won't be any market left and gil will be useless

Which is why, when im leveling my alt. i refuse to pay more than a few hundred gil for any leveling gear. (no to > 1000gil items)
Sellers can overprice all they want, i'm not buying and so should the rest of you.
Some sellers that undercut made my leveling easier. i bought decent upgrades every 5 levels from 20 to 800gil per piece. Before i swapped to GC gear completely, realising i have almost capped seals every time.

You dislike how a normal free market works, ie what we have in game. So you want it altered to benefit you as a seller, you want to change the rules to benefit you. That's not what you do with a free market, you don't get to tweak it like that for your own benefit. That's why I said you would be the most likely troll.

The moment something is so cheap its not worth doing anymore isn't how stuff works

when something cost more then it is selling it is not a business people are willing to invest in (and consider that time is money)

think of the bigger picture and quit being retarded

there is no gil to be made in crafting right now and that really doesn't make sense
