Anyone else notice this? Its kinda neat

Noticed this a while back, just now thought of it again.
So its a bit hard to see...



But if you look closely, you can see 'reflections' of the zone you're in in your chocobo's eyes. Not real time reflections, as you can see, I'm in the middle Dragonhead and its 'reflecting' one of the in-ground forts. Still, its a neat effect they added in.

It's called attention to detail, something XI and XIV actually does differently from other MMOs.

I noticed that when I was checking out various character models up close. There are some really neat little details in this game--it's pretty fun to notice them, haha!

There are a TON of small details in this game that i havent seen before. Try standing in front of a building when the sun is going down behind it. You can slowly watch the shadow creep up and eventually engulf your character and the ground in front of you. Weather effects.. ect.. ALOT of effort went into these things.

And yes, the little details in this game never hesitate to blow me away, filling up my screen shot folder. I like how the some of Scion npc's eyes and heads turn to follow you when you walk by them. This made me nuts and I had to run by each one to see which ones did and did not look. There are so many FX in this game that surprise me especially looking at some land structure, wondering if I can climb on it, finding out that I can.

Gonna have to be one of those boring guys that whine. Small details like these are nice but I can't help but to think that I sure hope these kind of things didn't take resources out of other things that has higher priority. It reminds me of when I was in school and made some 3D stuff and I could spend hours on just fixing some details of a chair but once I had to show my results I had this fancy looking chair sitting amongst plenty of other mediocre stuff. Spent too much time on tiny details so a lot ended up bad. Considering the many many weird flaws of FF14... Can't help but to think negatively.
