From Epic story to Boring Grind Why I quit FFXIV.

After running Castrum for 40 hours, which is completely insane to expect players to do, and yes I know there are other ways to earn tomes but lets be honest non are as efficient as running Castrum in either time or tomes gained, I had already felt my desire to play FFXIV waning. However, I pushed on Chimera, Hydra, and Garuda rekindled the desire and I once again started crafting/gathering/leveling other jobs/and running AK. It was the last thing that did in the game for me. I realized that even if I capped out the tomes each week for AK It would take me around 4 months to get my Valor set. I had to ask myself if I could grind jobs/castrum for another 50 hours per job for my DL set/ and AK again for 4 more months if I ever wanted to switch jobs. I understand why they put caps in. I get that they dont want players to burn through content to fast but asking players to run AK for 4 months is insanity.

You can do Ifrit or Garuda too for myth tomes ... THe problem is that you want it fast you can't just sit and farm slowly . Don't want to do AK run this week , fine don't do it . They're no need for AF +2 when you can just get similar gear in Coil

MMOs are not for you , play FPS or Offlines games , but games like Skyrim might be a little too grindy for you too.

Craft , Gather , Level other Jobs / Classes ...........

Read the original post. You can do Ifrit, Garuda, and even whip up on Titan all day long. It still is going to take 4 months gathering myth tome to gear up each character.

Problem with coils: You get to run each coil for a success once per week. Likely by the time you get the 'end game' gear there will be new gear to get so the whole armory system of playing multiple jobs is tossed out of the window. Not to mention the problem is I am not playing Gear Grind 14, I am playing Final Fantasy 14 I want a nice story to play, and multiple jobs to play it on.

also it IS lacking variety, don't give me that "don't want to grind play fps" garbage. the stuff that's coming with 2.1 should've been there at launch

I agree... I remember that one dungeon in Skyrim which I ran 50 times to get my Dragon Born Axe +1.

Do people not realize there is ilvl90 gear that drops in coil as well? You do not need every piece of your AF2 for a full ilvl90 gear set. Try doing coil if you have full dl and relic.
